Accounting Manager - Financial Systems & Operations

Location: Cleveland, OH (Hybrid - on-site as needed)
Pay: $45/hour
Job Type: Temp-to-Hire

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead day-to-day accounting operations and support the modernization of financial systems. This is a hands-on role that will oversee GL, AP, AR, cash management, and month-end close, while playing a key part in an ERP migration from QuickBooks to Microsoft Dynamics Business Central.

You will collaborate cross-functionally with Operations, Billing, and IT to ensure seamless financial processes and accurate reporting, while mentoring accounting staff and providing insights to senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage day-to-day accounting operations, including GL, AP, AR, cash management, and month-end close
• Strengthen financial controls and accounting processes
• Lead migration from QuickBooks to Microsoft Dynamics Business Central
• Partner with Operations, Billing, and IT to integrate financial systems with TMS
• Oversee AR collections, billing accuracy, and payment workflows
• Mentor and lead accounting staff
• Prepare financial reporting and insights for senior leadership

Must-Have Qualifications:

• 3+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Strong month-end close and transactional accounting background
• Experience with accounting systems beyond basic QuickBooks
• Strong Excel and reporting skills
• Bachelor's degree
• Authorized to work in the United States
• Experience with Microsoft Dynamics Business Central

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

• ERP implementation or migration experience
• Experience with NetSuite, Sage, or other ERP systems
• Transportation or logistics industry experience
• CPA or CMA designation

Work Environment:

• Hybrid role: on-site as needed
• Business casual dress code
• Close collaboration with Operations, Billing, IT, and senior leadership
