We currently have an exciting career opportunity for a Advisory Directorto join the team in our Bethesda office.

CohnReznick is a hybrid firm and most of our professionals are located within a commutable distance to one of our offices. This position is considered hybrid which means team members are expected to be thoughtful and intentional in how they create opportunities for in-person collaboration. While the cadence of in-office presence is determined at the team level, our professionals are encouraged to be in the office/together in person on average 3 days a week.

CohnReznick's Government & Public Sector Advisory practice is looking for leaders who thrive in complex, high-visibility environments, helping public agencies plan, deliver, and oversee critical infrastructure investments. We work alongside clients to solve challenging problems, navigate competing stakeholder interests, and turn ambitious infrastructure goals into measurable results for the communities they serve.

Our professionals help government agencies and public entities navigate the challenges of delivering large-scale, state and federally funded capital programs. Through services including program oversight, construction integrity monitoring, grants management, risk management, and project finance, we help transform public funding into lasting infrastructure and community impact.

YOUR ROLE.

Responsibilities include but not limited to:

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to state, local, and quasi-governmental infrastructure owners on the planning, funding, delivery, oversight, and administration of major capital programs and infrastructure portfolios.
  • Develop and maintain executive-level relationships with current and prospective clients, identifying challenges and delivering solutions related to federally and state-funded infrastructure initiatives.
  • Lead business development efforts, including opportunity identification, market engagement, client relationship development, pursuit strategy, and capture planning.
  • Support our firm's growth by helping define service offerings, target markets, strategic partnerships, and go-to-market strategies.
  • Represent the firm through thought leadership initiatives, conference presentations, executive roundtables, industry associations, and client briefings.
  • Lead proposal development, interview preparation, and other pursuit activities for major public sector opportunities.
  • Advise clients throughout the full project lifecycle, helping them navigate program governance, funding requirements, risk management, compliance obligations, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Collaborate with our engagement teams to scope, design, and deliver advisory services that address client priorities and achieve measurable outcomes.
  • Oversee and manage complex advisory engagements, ensuring high-quality deliverables, client satisfaction, and successful project execution.
  • Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, innovation, and professional growth.
  • Monitor industry trends, emerging funding opportunities, regulatory developments, and infrastructure policy changes that may impact clients and growth opportunities.
YOUR EXPERIENCE.

The successful candidate will have:
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • 10+ years of progressive leadership experience overseeing, administering, or delivering large-scale public infrastructure programs, capital improvement programs, or transportation, water, aviation, port, transit, energy, or similar infrastructure portfolios.
  • Direct experience serving in a senior leadership role within a federal, state, regional, municipal, or other public-sector infrastructure organization.
  • Demonstrated experience managing multi-billion-dollar capital programs, infrastructure portfolios, and federally funded investment initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of infrastructure funding and financing mechanisms, including federal grants, state funding programs, public-private partnerships, and other capital investment strategies.
  • Deep knowledge of infrastructure delivery models, program governance, project controls, risk management, and capital program oversight.
  • Experience administering federally funded infrastructure programs and navigating associated compliance, reporting, and stakeholder requirements.
  • Demonstrated success developing client relationships, generating new business opportunities, and supporting revenue growth.
  • Experience leading strategic growth initiatives, market expansion efforts, or practice-building activities.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with executive leadership, elected officials, governing boards, funding agencies, and other senior stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and successfully manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as required.
Highly Preferred
  • Former executive or comparable leadership role within a public-sector infrastructure organization.
  • Experience overseeing the administration of federally funded infrastructure programs under DOT, FTA, FAA, FHWA, FRA, MARAD, EPA, DOE, or similar funding programs.
  • Existing relationships with infrastructure owners, operators, funding agencies, and decision-makers across the public sector.

In Maryland, the salary range for a Advisory Directoris $190,000 to $270,000. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications and location, and applicable employment laws. Salary is one component of the CohnReznick total rewards package, which includes a discretionary performance bonus, generous paid time off, expanded and inclusive parental benefits, to name a few.
