Analyst - Personnel Administration

Reports to: Manager - Personnel Administration
Location: In Office, Boston MA

The base salary range for this position is dependent upon experience and location, ranging from:

• $75,000 - $85,000 (Boston, MA)

Key Responsibilities

  • Enter and audit all incoming HR Actions/Payroll Data entry while maintaining high levels of accuracy or process payroll for all Avangrid companies utilizing the global platform.
  • Provide support in both Payroll and HR areas, including but not limited to reviewing vendor interfaces for benefits, 401K savings and investment plans, and payroll taxes.
  • Provide first level of consultative services to all employees of the organization for all Payroll related matters.
  • Analyze all data entry received by HR prior to updating the employees record in SAP while using organizational knowledge to determine whether the requested entry is applicable. Regardless of method received, via email or system interfaces, ensure proper documents and forms are received or approved. Enter and audit all HR or payroll actions including internal processes relative to employee master data including hires, terminations, and retirements.
  • Perform all activities necessary to process one or more payrolls, including maintaining related records, calculating prior pay period adjustments, filing voluntary deduction reports, processing levies and garnishments, determining correct pay practices and any corrective action needed, and documenting and updating procedures.
  • Recognize, in a timely manner, employee pay policy exceptions and issues and communicates these to either the employee, business, Personnel Administration Senior or Lead Analyst or Management or Human Resources so the issued can be resolved.
  • Audit employee business expense reports to ensure compliancy with Avangrid policies and procedures and reach out to employees/supervisors when submissions do not align with the established procedures.
  • Answer incoming calls and responds to questions related to policies and procedures from all levels throughout the organization.
  • Prepare reports in SAP on a weekly and monthly basis as required by law and organizational needs.
  • Maintain knowledge and manages Payroll functions including but not limited to reconciling and funding the payroll taxes, as well as 401k and HSA plans and assists with balancing and filing quarterly and annual tax reports.
  • Adhere to and understands all departmental internal controls and maintains all departmental processes to ensure compliance.
  • Prepare and validates reports for internal and external department audits alongside the Lead Analyst. This will involve working directly with the auditors to provide information as requested for sample groups and provide explanations/further detail when necessary.
  • Perform general ledger reconciliations and works closely with other departments to ensure all accounts are cleared and in balance each month.
  • Support HR/Payroll SAP Module and Workday testing in Quality environments and documenting results to determine if testing passed.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in related field, the equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully work independently in a high-volume, fast-paced environment with supervision in a different physical location. Proven experience to drive results and be accountable in this type of environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 1 year of relevant working experience, preferably in a role requiring independent work and accountability in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment Requirements:
  • Regular and reliable attendance in the office
  • Must be able to work in a collaborative open office work environment with some noise
  • Must be able to work on a computer with a minimum of 8 hours of screen time with continuous keyboard use
  • Must be able to answer and return incoming phone calls
