Position Summary:

The Assistant Director, Premium Seating and Priority Giving supports the planning, administration, and delivery of premium seating and priority giving programs for Vanderbilt Athletics. Reporting to the Assistant Athletic Director/Director of Premium Seating and Priority Giving, and working closely with the National Commodore Club (NCC) team, this role focuses on the day-to-day execution of premium seating operations, donor benefit fulfillment, and priority seat giving. The Assistant Director plays an important role in delivering a high-touch, customer-focused experience for NCC donors.

About the Work Unit

The department of Development and Alumni Relations (DAR) assists Vanderbilt University in securing the resources, both human and financial, that are required to achieve its mission and goals. The department is responsible for the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of individuals and organizations whose charitable objectives are consistent with those of Vanderbilt University's teaching and research programs.

DAR's university development team is responsible for seeking new resources from alumni, parents, friends, and family foundations to support key fundraising priorities. More information can be found here: https://www.vanderbilt.edu/dar/

Key Functions and Expected Performance

  • Support the administration and fulfillment of premium seating for football, basketball, and baseball, including contracts, billing coordination, and seat assignments.
  • Assist with the management and delivery of ticket-related donor benefits, including premium seating, parking allocations, and priority access.
  • Help maintain and administer the National Commodore Club (NCC) priority point system, ensuring accuracy of donor records and timely benefit delivery.
  • Serve as a primary donor-facing contact for premium seating and priority giving inquiries, providing timely, professional, and solutions-oriented customer service.
  • Coordinate closely with the Athletics Ticket Office to resolve donor ticketing and parking issues prior to and during each season.
  • Support premium game day operations, including hospitality spaces, donor check-in, and on-site issue resolution.
  • Assist with tracking premium inventory, utilization, and donor participation to support reporting, renewals, and stewardship efforts.
  • Support stewardship, renewal, and informational communications for premium seat holders in coordination with development officers and communications staff.
  • Assist with special events, third-party rentals, and premium space usage as needed.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Work Environment:

This position will be located in the Nashville, TN area and will be required to be in the office every day, Monday through Friday. Routine travel, nights, and weekends will be required.

Supervisory Relationships

This position reports administratively and functionally to the Senior Director, Premium Seating and Priority Giving.

This position will not have any direct reports.

Education and Certifications
  • A bachelor's degree, or the equivalent, is necessary.
Experience and Skills
  • Two years of relevant experience is required.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with donors and internal partners.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to administer benefits/entitlements (e.g., seat assignments, parking, and donor access) accurately and consistently.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment, particularly during peak renewal and competition seasons.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain policies, processes, and timelines diplomatically.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to maintain accurate records and documentation.
  • Ability to use current computer technology, such as Windows, Excel, Word, and Vanderbilt's donor CRM and ticket management systems (or the ability to learn quickly).
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams (National Commodore Club, Athletics Ticket Office, event operations, vendors, and DAR colleagues).
  • Ability to exercise good judgment in the handling of confidential information.
  • Routine overnight travel is required
  • Evening and weekend work is required
