Associate Director, Medical Diagnostics- Lung Cancerreports into Senior Director, Medical Diagnostics - Lung Cancer and is a qualified individual who has a history of diagnostic industry experience and/or clinical pathology experience in oncology. Contributing to the medical guidance for lung cancer biomarkers and diagnostics, the incumbent will work within the USMA Lung Medical Diagnostics team to support the development, monitoring, and delivery of strategic plans.
Responsibilities:
- Contributes to establishing and implementing scientific imperatives, narratives, and strategies for precision oncology launches to ensure medical and scientific accuracy.
- Support the Launch Readiness Reviews (LRR) by coordinating and tracking pre-launch activities and ensure timely execution of the endorsed LRR plan in coordination with Lung Franchise Medical Leads/Directors.
- Either as an expert or project manager (depending on depth of expertise), develops and refines processes for approving diagnostics materials.
- Supports Sr Director and Regional Directors, Lung Medical Diagnostics in synthesizing recurring field insights reports.
- Provide support on Advisory Boards for execution including communications, collaborating with internal and external customers and discussion guide/content.
- With support from the Medical Lead, coordinate the external expert engagement with HQ and the appropriate identification of Key External Experts.
- Accountable for ensuring scientific and medical accuracy of outgoing materials, research protocols, and external publications.
- Ensures own knowledge of protocols and new relevant developments are up to date
- Responsible to adhering to all required ethical and compliance standards as determined by the organization and/or market within the role that operates.
- Supports cross-functional medical coordination and follow-up on deliverables from different functions.
- Provide congress support by contributing to the congress planning playbook.
Minimum Qualifications
- Advanced Medical/Scientific degree (Masters or Doctorate)
- Strong business acumen, including an understanding of drivers behind evolving diagnostic and pathology landscape.
- 2+ year of experience in diagnostics and/or pharmaceutical industry, ideally in medical affairs (field or HQ).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Doctorate scientific or medical degree (MD, PharmD or PhD)
- 3+ years of combined experience in oncology (clinical or research oncology) in industry or academic settings, ideally related to diagnostics and biomarkers.
- Understanding of diagnostic FDA environment; ideally, hands-on experience working in clinical laboratories (CAP/CLIA lab work experience) supporting oncology testing.
- Proven experience in use of immunohistochemistry technologies and digital pathology tools in the development of AI-drive image analysis algorithms.
- Experience with development, application, and evidence generation planning of novel biomarkers or diagnostics platforms (e.g. liquid biopsy, novel AGA detections)
- Track record of effective management of internal and external decision-making bodies and governance involving cross functional partners.
- Proven track record of project management experience in industry.
- Knowledge and experience in medical strategy/affairs with emphasis in diagnostics launches.
Compensation Information: The annual base salary (or hourly rate of compensation) for this position ranges from $175,000 - $230,000. However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition, our positions offer a short-term incentive bonus opportunity; eligibility to participate in our equity-based long-term incentive program (salaried roles) or to receive a retirement contribution (hourly roles). Benefits offered include a qualified retirement program [401(k) plan]; paid vacation and holidays; paid leaves; and health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
