Description
The Automation Specialist provides technical expertise for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of industrial hot water systems. This role requires strong mechanical, electrical, and automation skills to ensure safety, efficiency, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities
•Act as a technical liaison between Armstrong, customers, representatives, and internal teams.
•Advise on product selection, application, and system integration.
•Support the Automation Portfolio, including controllers, I/O, visualization, networks, industrial control, sensing, safety, VFDs, and mechanical components.
•Deliver automation solutions for pre-sales and post-sales activities, including technical support and issue resolution.
•Conduct product training for customers and representatives onsite or at Armstrong facilities.
•Recommend energy-efficient solutions tailored to customer needs.
•Provide timely, accurate technical support and collaborate with customers to develop customized solutions.
•Perform routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs on gas-fired equipment, including burners, heaters, and associated control systems, to ensure optimal performance and compliance with safety regulations.
•Lead or assist in the installation, start-up, and commissioning of new gas-fired units and control systems, ensuring all components are correctly integrated and operational.

Key Requirements
•Working knowledge in programming software (Studio 5000, FactoryTalk View, TIA Portal).
•Experience in system integration and troubleshooting PLC/HMI automation issues.
•Strong understanding of combustion systems, burner management systems, and gas distribution components (piping, regulators, meters, valves).
•Knowledge of network protocols (Ethernet, MODBUS, RS-485, RS-232).
•Ability to read wiring schematics and P&ID diagrams.
•Strong communication skills and proficiency in MS Office tools.
•Willingness to learn gas-fired equipment and adapt to evolving technologies.
•The role is hands-on and may require working in various industrial environments, standing for long periods, lifting equipment, and participating in an on-call rotation for emergency services.
