Seeking a Java/J2EE Engineer with strong experience in developing microservices and event-driven applications using Spring and Kafka
Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and skilled Java/J2EE Engineer to join our team, focusing on building and maintaining microservices and event-driven solutions on the AWS platform. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, and AWS cloud services, and will be comfortable working in an Agile, collaborative environment. You will play a key role in designing, developing, and deploying scalable, resilient, and high-performance applications that drive business value.
Key Responsibilities
Design, develop, and maintain microservices using Java/J2EE and Spring Boot.
Build and integrate event-driven architectures using Apache Kafka.
Develop and deploy applications on AWS, leveraging services such as EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, and others.
Implement RESTful APIs and ensure secure, scalable, and maintainable interfaces.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and deliver new features.
Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and integration testing.
Apply best practices in CI/CD, monitoring, and logging.
Troubleshoot and resolve production issues as needed.
Document technical solutions and architectural decisions.
Required Skills & Qualifications
3+ years of hands-on experience with Java/J2EE and Spring Boot.
Strong experience in designing and developing microservices architectures.
Proficient in building event-driven systems using Apache Kafka.
Solid experience with AWS cloud services (e.g., EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, IAM).
Experience with RESTful API design and implementation.
Familiarity with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, Git, Maven, Docker).
Good understanding of containerization (Docker, Kubernetes is a plus).
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field.
Key Responsibilities

• Participate in code reviews, unit testing, and integration testing to maintain high quality.
• Apply best practices for CI/CD, monitoring, logging, and operational excellence.
• Troubleshoot and resolve production issues; participate in incident/problem management as needed.
• Document technical designs, architectural decisions, and operational runbooks.
Required Qualifications
• 3+ years hands-on experience with Java/J2EE and Spring Boot.
• Strong experience designing and building microservices architectures.
• Proficiency implementing event-driven systems with Apache Kafka.
• Experience with AWS services (e.g., EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, IAM).
• Experience designing and implementing RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with CI/CD and build tooling such as Jenkins, Git, Maven, and Docker.
• Understanding of containerization (Docker; Kubernetes is a plus).
• Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

PAY RANGE AND BENEFITS:
Pay Range*: $85/Hr.
*Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
