Position Overview:
We are seeking a bilingual professional to support the launch of a new manufacturing facility in Austin, TX. This role will primarily involve interpretation and communication support between Japanese engineers and local construction teams during the plant startup phase. The position may also include executive level administrative support.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Provide on-site interpretation during meetings and discussions between Otsuka engineers and construction personnel.
- Assist in technical communication, ensuring accurate translation of manufacturing and construction terminology.
- Support coordination and documentation for project-related activities.
- Potentially perform secretarial duties for the CEO, including scheduling and administrative tasks.
- Comfortable dealing with relocation responsibilities and assisting leadership with resolving any inquiries related to short-term or long-term residency.
- Aiding international visitors with their visits and interactions with local staff
Required Skills & Qualifications: - Fluency in Japanese and English, with strong interpretation skills.
- Technical English proficiency, especially in manufacturing and construction terminology.
- Prior experience in factory operations, construction projects, or related technical environments.
- Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
Minimum Qualifications, Education & Experience: - Must be at least 18 yrs. of age
- Bachelors degree required
- Minimum of 5 yrs experience as an interpreter in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Muti-lingual with fluency in both Japanese and English required
Work Environment: - This is largely a sedentary role.
- This job operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment.
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to sit or stand for long periods of time
- Typically requires travel 5% of the time
