What to Expect
The Business Strategy Manager will lead strategic initiatives that support the growth and profitability of Hyundai Capital America by shaping strategy, translating insights into action, and driving cross-functional execution. This role will partner with leaders across the enterprise to evaluate opportunities, assess capabilities and operational readiness, and develop business cases and executive-level materials to support decision-making and alignment on strategic priorities. A core focus of this role is building, scaling, and evolving the auto P&C business, including supporting strategic direction from early-stage planning through execution in close partnership with internal teams and external partners. Responsibilities include leading strategy projects end-to-end; conducting market, industry, and competitive analysis for auto P&C and adjacent opportunities; and supporting broader corporate strategy initiatives.
What You Will Do
1. Lead development and execution of portfolio strategy and strategic planning, including long range plans, growth initiatives, and roadmap definition to support enterprise profitability and scale.
2. Manage and strengthen strategic partner relationships (including auto P&C partners), serving as a point of contact to align on priorities, performance, roadmap decisions, and growth opportunities.
3. Independently own cross functional strategy projects end to end, coordinating with internal stakeholders and external partners to drive execution and enterprise alignment.
4. Conduct best-practice benchmarking by leveraging internal and public sources, as well as SME interviews, to generate actionable insights that help HCA close gaps versus best-in-class market players
5. Develop business cases, financial analyses, and executive level presentations to inform strategic decision-making and present recommendations to senior leadership.
Qualifications
What You Will Bring
• Minimum 5-7 years' progressive experience in corporate strategy, strategic planning, management consulting, product strategy, business operations, or an adjacent role with measurable business impact.
• Automotive or financial services industries preferred.
• Auto P&C insurance experience preferred, particularly in partnership/distribution strategy, product economics, and/or go-to-market execution.
• Bachelor's degree in finance, business or related discipline.
• MBA a plus.
• Demonstrated expertise in primary and secondary research techniques and intelligence gathering and benchmarking
• Strong problem structuring and quantitative analysis skills (e.g., business case development, KPI definition, ROI/unit economics, scenario analysis).
• Ability to synthesize complex information into clear, executive-ready narratives and recommendations; comfort influencing without authority.
• Working knowledge of auto P&C insurance fundamentals and key drivers (e.g., underwriting, pricing, claims, loss ratio), and how they translate into customer value and profitability.
• Exceptional attention to detail and quality.
• Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication, including presentation skills.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to successfully collaborate with cross functional departments.
• Strong orientation toward results coupled with reputation for integrity, creativity and good judgment
• Must have the ability to challenge, when appropriate, existing practices.
Work Environment
Employees in this class are subject to extended periods of sitting, standing, and walking, vision to monitor and moderate noise levels. Work is performed in an at home and office environment.
The posted salary range for this job takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; geographic location, and other business and organizational needs. Successful candidates may be hired anywhere in the salary range based on these factors. It is uncommon to hire candidates at or near the top of the range.
