Loparex LLC is the world's largest manufacturer of extrusion base and silicone-coated release liners for the converting industry. We have facilities throughout the U.S., Europe, China, and India. Loparex is currently looking for a Buyer to join our team.

The Buyer is responsible for sourcing, procurement, and inventory management activities associated with assigned categories of goods and services for the company's Iowa City plant and for other company locations as instructed from time-to-time.

PRIMARY JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Promotes safety by leading by example, participating in safety engagement and encouraging the team to work safe each day and to follow all safety guidelines and procedures
  • Determine requirements for goods and services to ensure materials are ordered and in stock to meet manufacturing requirements while maintaining optimal inventory levels.
  • Issue purchase orders to suppliers consistent with corporate-negotiated supplier agreements including payment terms, MOQs, and vendor-warehousing programs.
  • Maintain and manage inventories for purchased goods including consignment inventory, cycle counting, and aged inventory control to achieve inventory targets.
  • Follow all purchasing policies and procedures including checking purchase orders and reviewing supplier acknowledgments for completeness, clarity, and accuracy.
  • Resolve supplier delivery and quality issues and endeavor to make adjustments to receipts which are consistent with the production schedule.
  • Execute the expediting/deferral of materials or identification of alternative parts as dictated by changes in internal and external customer requirements and to meet production and inventory objectives.
  • Establish and maintain ongoing relationships with suppliers to drive consistency and improvement in order acknowledgement response time, on-time, in-full delivery, and delivery flexibility.
  • Collaborate with the Master Planner-Raw Materials, Corporate Sourcing, and Plant Operations to execute inventory methodologies to improve lead time, optimize ROI, and minimize residual inventory.
  • Verify receipts, consignment reporting, and cost information to resolve invoice exceptions and inventory discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Regular and reliable attendance on-site
SECONDARY JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Identify and perform root-cause analyses and provide data-driven analyses, reports, and recommendations to solve complex problems and drive continuous improvement.
  • Track and report key functional metrics to measure performance.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of systems, policies, and procedures to ensure efficient processes and accurate documentation.
  • Any tasks or duties as assigned by manager.
JOB SKILLS, EXPERIENCE, AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university, in a related field (e.g. Supply Chain, Business, or Technical field).
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of functional experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • APICS or related professional certification preferred.
  • Results oriented with a strong attention to detail, sense of urgency, and commitment to serving internal and external customers.
  • Highly analytical and organized with strong critical thinking skills.
  • Proficiency working with ERP systems and Microsoft Office®.
  • Continuous improvement mindset with ability to challenge the status quo.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills with the ability to exercise sound judgment.
  • Professional with excellent interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to safety for both oneself and coworkers.
  • Infrequent travel required.
  • Must have the ability to wear personal protective equipment including ear plugs, safety glasses and steel toe shoes
