About the Role

Kitsap Credit Union is in search of a Contact Center Lending Specialist to work out of our East Bremerton location. This position is responsible for creating member loyalty by providing exceptional service and deepening member relationships by cross-selling all products and services and demonstrating digital and self-serve options.

Working hours: 8am - 6pm M-F with 1 Sat a month from 9am - 4pm, 40 hour work week

Compensation: $27.27 - $34.09 per hour depending on experience

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Answer inbound calls from members or prospects - adhering to KCU standard business practices using sound judgement.
  • Effectively work online lending queue to ensure quick turnaround on pending applications.
  • Obtain detailed information on behalf of member or prospect to ensure application is complete for underwriter review and decisioning.
  • Complete entire account review during time of application to look for cross sell opportunities of KCU products to create more fully engaged members.
  • Achieve lending and sales goals while meeting standards for quality; may include inbound and/or outbound calling.
  • Communicate loan decisions to applicants, provide loan counseling and/or alternative lending solutions as needed.
  • Accurately and efficiently prepare loan documentation and fund loans according to policies, procedures, and regulations.
  • Maintain an active knowledge of Kitsap Credit Union's lending products, policies, procedures, applicable laws, and regulations.
  • Process new accounts to accommodate non-member loan requests received via our online and mobile channels.
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality relative to any information received directly or indirectly.
  • Maintain a strong knowledge of KCU operating systems and self-service technology.
  • Contribute to effective department and credit union operations by performing other related duties as assigned.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills including effective listening, speaking, and writing.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to present, explain and refer products and services.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to learn and maintain strong level of Kitsap Credit Union's core operating systems and self-service technology (iPhones, Androids, etc.).
  • Demonstrate a high level of engagement and active collaboration contributing to a positive team environment.
  • Understand, model, and represent KCU's core values.

REquired Qualifications and Education
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • One year of experience in a financial institution.
  • One year of consumer lending (personal, Auto and Credit Cards) experience.
  • Availability during Saturdays and extended business hours.
  • Must be registered with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS) within 30 days of hire and comply with the SAFE Act regulations.

Preferred Qualifications and Education
  • An understanding of credit fundamentals and underwriting criteria preferred.

SUPERVISORY STATUS

This position does not supervise others.

Working conditions

This position will be required to work in an office environment with elevated noise levels, and, with or without reasonable accommodation is required:
  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position for a minimum of 75% of the time
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machines
  • The person in this position frequently communicates with peers, supervisors, vendors, and employees to exchange accurate information and answer questions
  • Works in an indoor office environment but expected to attend meetings in buildings that require travel in outdoor weather conditions
