Department purpose and structure
The Private Client group at A&O Shearman advises high-net-worth individuals, families, fiduciaries, and family offices on the full spectrum of wealth planning and preservation matters. Our team provides sophisticated counsel on estate and tax planning, trust creation and administration, charitable giving, succession planning, and cross-border wealth structuring. Working in close collaboration with colleagues across the firm's corporate, tax, and real estate practices, the group delivers integrated, multidisciplinary solutions tailored to each client's personal and financial objectives. With deep experience navigating complex regulatory environments and evolving tax legislation, our lawyers are trusted advisors who help clients protect and transfer wealth across generations.
Role purpose
A&O Shearman's Private Client group is seeking a talented associate to join its practice who is eager to contribute to a sophisticated and collegial team. The ideal candidate will have a background in trusts and estates work at a large law firm and will be responsible for drafting legal documents and assisting in the delivery of advice to clients across a wide range of estate planning and administration, tax, philanthropic, and fiduciary matters. The candidate should be detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple workstreams in a fast-paced environment.
