Salary: $141,116.00 to $167,845.00/year. 40 hours/wk full-time

Job Summary
Job Duties:

• Responsible for the operation of multiple biomedical engineering technician teams. Directly manage team leaders aligned with a set of customer service lines supported by the department. Monitor the growth and development of the technician workforce, execute corrective action as needed, and ensure equity in performance management of technicians across teams. Ensure sufficient staffing coverage for normal business hours and off-hours support for emergency service

• Provide routine reporting to department directors on team activities and support concerns. Ensure timely and complete documentation of all work performed by team (or vendor), parts and labor to enable effort and expense tracking team. Assist department directors with operating expense reviews in preparation for operating budget submissions. Track operating budget expenses and needs on an ongoing basis

• Ensure teams' compliance with hospital and department policies and programs including the MEMP and CMMS database. Monitor CMMS data quality to maintain data accuracy and integrity. Ensure timely resourcing and follow-up for medical device recalls and safety reports. Monitor equipment vendor service contract status and provide oversight of equipment vendors for service coordination, cost tracking, and renewal dates

• Collect customer requests that require engineering involvement, such as capital equipment purchases, technology evaluations and implementations, and renovations or construction in clinical areas. Work with directors and engineering managers to resource accordingly. Participate in meetings, projects, assignments and committees for program development and management, operations and other improvement and other departmental or hospital needs

• Service as a high- level individual contributor, leading technology replacement/new technology evaluation projects that require specialized skillset that are beyond the skills of the general team resources.

Qualifications

Requirements include a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Biomedical Engineering, Clinical Engineering, Healthcare Engineering, Healthcare Technology Management or related field and five years of work experience in the job offered or related field of biomedical engineering in a hospital environment.

Special Requirements:

  • 5 years of experience leading engineering projects and/or overseeing technical staff
  • 5 years of experience in diagnosing and solving problems of moderate technical complexity in medical equipment and/or systems
  • 5 years of experience in technical writing and presentations
  • 5 years of experience working with business software applications
