Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for running Center Bench to chuck up, center and face parts to specified dimensions. Makes adjustments and performs tool changes. Inspects parts to ensure dimensional accuracy. Stacks finished parts in containers

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Read work orders and blueprint specifications, determines material requirements and length of part.
• Determines what machine adjustments need to be made.
• Ability to set up machines for a variety of parts make adjustments as needed.
• Measures parts to ensure dimensional accuracy.
• Follows written and oral work instruction.
• Works well with supervision and co-workers.
• Other duties as assigned.

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Willingness to run other machines when needed such as but not limited to Heat Treat, Hobbs & Rack Roller.
• Works in a safe manor at all times.
• Keeps work area clean at all times.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic math skills
• Ability to use precision measuring equipment such as, but not limited to Depth Gauges, Dial Indicators and Rulers.
• Ability to read blueprints.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work well with others.
• Demonstrates dependability and adherence to all safety rules and regulations.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Ability to stand continuously for 8 - 12 hours.
• Ability to work in tight places
• Strength and manual dexterity sufficient to operate tools to make repairs
• Ability to lift up to 20 pounds repetitively.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Ability to twist, bend and lift repetitively.
• Ability to stand, crouch and climb to perform repairs, use ladders and perform various types of manual labor.
• Good eye/hand coordination and good motor skills.
• Visual (with correction) sufficient to read blueprints and orders and the ability to record the information either manually or in a computer.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Ear and Eye protection required at all times in all production areas.
• Steel toe boots with integrated metatarsal guards required in production area.
• Exposure to a noisy work environment.
• Exposure to hot and humid conditions.
• Exposure to coolants, oils, grease and water.
