Co-Response Clinician

The Behavioral Health Co-Response Clinician provides clinical support on the scene, conducts screening and assessments, reviews what is known about client behavioral health history, navigates and refers to community resources, and provides proactive follow-up support to encourage client service and treatment engagement.

Responsibilities:

• Works primarily with the Police Department and clinical staff.
• Provides urgent evaluation, crisis assessments, and interventions to individuals experiencing a mental health emergency.
• Provides proactive follow-up support to encourage individual service and treatment engagement.
• Collaborates with an interdisciplinary team to provide community-based care to individuals through immediate clinical intervention, including mental status, social functioning, and level of risk.
• Determines the need for Crisis treatment, consults with the clinical supervisor, and implements appropriate treatment or referral responses.
• Works closely with individuals served and their families, identifying signs of mental health and substance abuse, and performing risk evaluation, intervention, and de-escalation.
• Determines if higher-level clinical intervention is required.
• Initiates section 12 when clinical necessary and clinically indicated.

Qualifications:

• Crisis or psychiatric inpatient experience preferred.
• Experience collaborating with law enforcement preferred.
• Bilingual (English & Spanish) preferred.
• Graduate of Clinical Master's program required.
• Licensed or license eligible required.
• Familiarity with internet, word processing and email systems required.
• Valid Driver's license and reliable transportation during each shift to provide expedited community based service response when appropriate and requested by law enforcement personnel required.
• Knowledge of grief and trauma.
• Knowledge and application of the Recovery Oriented model, specific to those experiencing a mental health crisis.

PAY: $40.13 per hour
