The Opportunity:
As a Corporate Senior Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Analyst, your work will provide valuable insights to senior leaders that directly influence Caterpillar's business, strategy, and growth. The primary responsibility of this role is to prepare timely and accurate monthly and quarterly analysis and reporting that reflects Caterpillar's overall financial performance. Additional responsibilities include supporting the preparation of monthly and quarterly business review presentations detailing Caterpillar financial performance presented to senior finance leadership, supporting external reporting including the quarterly earnings reporting process, and partnering across the enterprise to support key projects related to Global Finance strategy initiatives. This includes the implementation of a new enterprise analysis solution within the OneStream system. This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where attention to detail is critically important, as your work will be highly visible at all levels of the company.

What You Will Do:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Prepare key period-end charts and presentations utilized by senior finance leadership
  • Lead monthly enterprise financial analysis, support discussions with senior leaders on business results, and demonstrate decision-making skills and ownership of results
  • Support review of all externally communicated financial reports
  • Create and utilize automated tools for the updating, analyzing and reporting of consolidated financial results
  • Drive improvements and efficiencies in financial analysis and reporting processes
  • Collaborate across a variety of groups at Caterpillar, including segment CFO teams and business unit contacts
  • Maintaining financial records in accordance with GAAP and organizational standards

What You Have:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree within Accounting, Finance, or related field or equivalent experience
  • Accuracy and Attention to Detail: Understanding the necessity and value of accuracy; ability to complete tasks with high levels of precision.
  • Financial Analysis: Knowledge of tools and approaches of financial analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from financial and numerical material.
  • Analytical Thinking: Knowledge of techniques and tools that promote effective analysis; ability to determine the root cause of organizational problems and create alternative solutions that resolve these problems.
  • Decision Making and Critical Thinking: Knowledge of the decision-making process and associated tools and techniques; ability to accurately analyze situations and reach productive decisions based on informed judgment.
  • Managing Multiple Priorities: Knowledge of effective self-management practices; ability to manage multiple concurrent objectives, projects, groups, or activities, making effective judgments as to prioritizing and time allocation.
  • Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors.

  • The primary location for this position is Irving, TX
  • This role requires 5 days a week in office
  • Domestic relocation is available for those who qualify

  • International and Domestic travel up to 5%

Summary Pay Range:
$112,710.00 - $169,060.00

Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
