Cost Accountant/Manufacturing Accountant
Location: Nashua, NH | On-site
Schedule: Full-Time | Monday-Friday
Reports to: Controller / Finance Manager
Salary Range: $95,000 - $120,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Cost Accountant / Manufacturing Accountant to support financial operations within a manufacturing environment in Nashua, NH. This role is responsible for product costing, inventory valuation, variance analysis, and operational financial support. The ideal candidate is analytically strong, detail-oriented, and comfortable partnering closely with operations, supply chain, and production teams to drive accurate costing and informed business decisions.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain and analyze product cost structures, including materials, labor, and overhead
- Perform standard cost updates and annual cost roll-ups
- Analyze manufacturing variances (labor, material, overhead) and provide actionable insights
- Support inventory valuation, cycle counts, and physical inventory processes
- Prepare and review journal entries related to inventory and manufacturing transactions
- Support month-end and year-end close activities related to cost accounting
- Partner with operations and supply chain to improve cost visibility and efficiency
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and margin analysis
- Support internal and external audits related to inventory and manufacturing costs
- Drive continuous improvement in costing processes and controls
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (required)
- 4+ years of cost accounting or manufacturing accounting experience
- Strong understanding of standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory accounting
- Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- ERP system experience strongly preferred (SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Dynamics, or similar)
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis)
- CPA or CMA a plus but not required
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
