Director, Facilities & Operations

The University of Miami/UHealth department of Facilities has an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Director, Facilities & Operations to work at the UHealth Medical Campus. The Director, Facilities & Operations oversees the maintenance, energy operations, and environmental services operations of assigned facilities. Further, the Director, Facilities & Operations provides leadership to management staff and oversees all maintenance program initiatives.

• Identifies, analyzes, and implements energy projects for assigned facilities.
  
• Prepares department budget for funding requirements, and monitors expenditures.
  
• Makes routine inspections of facilities to uphold maintenance standards.
  
• Works as liaison between staff and departments to continuously assess facility conditions and keep facility assessment database accurate and up-to-date.
  
• Prepares reports for leadership team regarding facility conditions and needs.
  
• Collaborates in the planning of new construction and renovation projects.
  
• Ensures facilities maintain a high level of emergency preparedness at all times.
  
• Establishes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of the internal controls within the unit and compliance with University policies and procedures.
  
• Ensures employees are trained on controls within the function and on University policy and procedures.
  

Department Specific Functions

• Maintain HVAC equipment in accordance with OEM/ASHRAE standards.
  
• Monitor and maintain record keeping for critical care spaces per Joint Commission, AHCA, NFPA, and AHJ standards.
  
• Works closely with the Executive Director, Facilities Management on customer service, timely notification of utility outages or interruptions, and day-to-day operations and maintenance.
  
• Responsible for supplying an uninterrupted supply of utilities services to all Medical Campus Facilities on the loop and emergency power provided from the plant.
  
• Manage a direct report staffing, which includes licensed and un-licensed professionals in the HVAC, plumbing, and electrical trades.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's Degree in relevant field(Facilities Construction Management, Architecture, Engineering, or Technical Management)
  
• Minimum 8 years of experience
