ABOUT THE JOB
The Director of Proposal Operations is responsible for leading, managing, and optimizing the proposal development process across the organization. This role oversees the proposal team, ensures compliance with prospective and current client requirements, and drives the development of strategic, high-quality proposals that align with business objectives and maximize win rates. The Director serves as a key liaison between the Go-to-Market Team, Sales Operations, Operations, and subject matter experts to deliver compelling, competitive, and compliant proposal submissions.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide visionary leadership for the Proposal Team, setting strategic direction and actively contributing to content development, reviews, and production to ensure excellence in every submission.
- Take full ownership of the proposal process from initial RFP analysis through final delivery, reducing the workload for cross-functional teams by managing all aspects of development, coordination, and submission.
- Build and nurture a high-performing, collaborative team of proposal managers, writers, and content coordinators through mentorship, professional development, and a culture of continuous improvement.
- Strategically allocate and manage proposal resources, balancing workloads, optimizing task assignments, and facilitating ongoing training to maximize team effectiveness.
- Design, implement, and refine proposal processes, templates, and best practices to drive operational efficiency, enhance quality, and maintain a competitive edge.
- Partner closely with Growth, Client Success, Operations, and subject matter experts to define compelling win themes, value propositions, and solution strategies that differentiate the organization in the marketplace.
- Ensure all proposal submissions meet or exceed client requirements, adhere to company policies, and comply with industry standards, safeguarding organizational integrity and reputation.
QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in Business, Communications, English, or a related field; Master's degree preferred and 10+ years of experience in proposal management within a leadership role, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Proven track record of managing large, complex proposals in multiple industries and sectors. APMP certification or equivalent proposal management accreditation.

Pay Range: $120,000 - $170,000/yrThe actual offer may vary dependent upon geographic location and the candidate's years of experience and/or skill level. This position is also eligible for an annual incentive.
