We're looking for a dedicated and experienced EH&S Regional Leader who's ready to lead by example and take ownership of our Environmental, Health, and Safety programs while supporting the achievement of Winchester's EH&S vision and operational objectives. This role will provide leadership oversight for environmental, health, and safety programs at our small arms ammunition manufacturing facility in Manitowoc, WI, and two designated White Flyer manufacturing sites located at Webb City (MO), Knox (IN), Dalton (GA), Coal Township (PA), or San Bernardino (CA).
EH&S Regional Leader Essential Job Functions:
- Serve as the EH&S leader and primary point of contact for assigned facilities, providing strategic oversight of related programs including Process Safety Management (PSM).
- Partner with manufacturing leadership to integrate EH&S requirements into daily operations, ensuring consistent execution of safety protocols, risk mitigation strategies, and compliance initiatives.
- Lead site compliance efforts by monitoring regulatory requirements, conducting assessments, and implementing corrective actions to maintain adherence to OSHA, EPA, and applicable standards.
- Manage and continuously improve EH&S management systems, policies, and documentation to support ISO certification, regulatory compliance and audit readiness.
- Drive corrective action processes by facilitating root cause investigations, developing actions plans, monitoring completion, and validating effectiveness.
- Develop and implement behavior-based safety initiatives, wellness programs, and employee engagement strategies that strengthen safety awareness and promote a positive safety culture.
- Evaluate organizational safety culture through audits, observations, and employee engagement activities; develop and execute targeted improvement plans to enhance safety performance and accountability.
EH&S Regional Leader Minimum Requirements:- Must meet one of the following:
- High School Diploma or equivalent with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience** ; OR
- Bachelor's Degree* in Environmental Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Environmental Science, or a related technical field with a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience**.
**Relevant experience consists of dedicated EH&S experience in a manufacturing environment, with demonstrated success managing compliance, risk reduction, and safety initiatives
- Additional EH&S experience in other industries or manufacturing operations preferred.
- Demonstrate ability to establish strategic direction, prioritize initiatives, and effectively manage resources to achieve business and EH&S objectives.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local EH&S regulations and requirements, including OSHA and environmental compliance standards.
- Proven ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization, as well as with regulatory agencies and external stakeholders, both verbally and in writing.
- Demonstrated ability to set priorities, remain self-motivated, manage high-volume workload, willingness to collaborate and support team efforts with a high degree of accountability.
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% to support assigned locations.
- Ability to meet the role's physical demands, including, but not limited to, continuous standing/walking and occasionally picking up material weighing up to 50 pounds.
Location-Specific Requirements:
- This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with U.S. Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
- This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls, if required.
