Essential Functions and Primary Duties
- Assist with transforming and formatting client-provided data (e.g., PDFs, exports, or raw files) into Excel or other usable formats for audit and advisory teams.
- Support journal entry testing by organizing, cleaning, and analyzing financial data according to defined procedures.
- Work with the Engagement Services team to solve data-related challenges by applying logic, efficiency, and process improvement techniques.
- Contribute to efficiency projects by identifying ways to automate or streamline repetitive tasks through Excel functions, formulas, or analytics tools.
- Provide clear documentation of steps taken and communicate solutions effectively to team members and requestors.
- Gain exposure to technology-enabled auditing and IT audit concepts while supporting firmwide service requests.
- Perform research and participate in problem resolution
- Other responsibilities as assigned
Preferred Qualifications
- Pursuing a degree in Math, Theory of Mathematics, Accounting, Finance, Information Systems, Data Analytics, or related field.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including use of formulas, pivot tables, and data formatting.
- Interest in process improvement, efficiency, and problem-solving.
- Comfortable working with large or complex data sets; prior exposure to data analysis tools (e.g., Power BI, Alteryx, or similar) is a plus.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical team members.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple requests in a deadline-driven environment.
- Team-oriented mindset with eagerness to learn new tools and technologies.
Minimum Qualifications
- Working towards a Bachelor's degree
- Excellent interpersonal, analytical, research and project management skills
- Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of the organization, both internally and externally
- Ability to multi-task, think independently and problem solve in a results driven team oriented environment
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Strong computer and technical skills including, Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook, intranet and audit software
