Essential Functions and Primary Duties

• Month end reconciliations and closing procedures - including bank reconciliation, income reconciliation between software, review general ledger coding, balance liabilities, etc.
• Operate accounting functions, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger maintenance and financial close process.
• Prepare monthly sales and use tax for clients
• Understand basic payroll functions for recording.
• Prepare or assist in client's internal financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP or other relevant accounting standards.
• Coordinate reporting requirements with external auditors and tax accountants (as needed).
• Input, process, and/or approve payables through third-party, web-based payables systems such as Bill.com or Anybill.com
• Perform self-review to ensure accuracy of work.
• Communicate directly with team and clients related tasks.
• Assist with year-end 1099 processing

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in Accounting, Taxation or related field
• Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO) accounting software - ProAdvisor Certification a plus
• Proficiency in Quickbooks Desktop, Xero, Yardi, Sage Intacct, Bill.com, Gusto, other software skills a plus
• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
• Strong attention to detail, organizational, and time management skills
• Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently
• Ability to manage multiple client assignments simultaneously
• Ability to be flexible on day-to-day workloads that change with client needs
• Strong understanding of deadlines

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required
• Must have completed at least one "busy season"
• Demonstrated ability to communicate verbally and in writing throughout all levels of organization, both internally and externally
• Proficient use of applicable technology
• Must be able to travel based on client and business needs
