Purpose
The Field Operations will support the warehouse, transportation, process, and inventory initiatives across Reece's Plumbing Division geography. This role is responsible for strategic engagement with branch team members, local leadership and Reece Support Center staff to facilitate implementations, scaling, digitization efforts, training of warehouse functions, transportation, and inventory-related projects. You will be the SME for various warehousing, transportation, inventory and process platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Operational Analysis & Support
- Evaluate daily branch operations to identify inefficiencies in inventory, logistics, labor utilization, and workflow.
- Monitor branch KPIs including fulfillment rates, on-time deliveries, service metrics, and labor productivity.
- Work with branch managers to implement process improvements and operational best practices.
Financial Analysis & Reporting
- Analyze branch P&L statements, operating expenses, and revenue drivers to assess profitability.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for individual branch locations.
- Provide financial reports and dashboards to management, highlighting trends and opportunities for improvement.
Inventory & Cost Control
- Support inventory accuracy, cycle counts, and product movement analysis.
- Partner with procurement to optimize purchasing strategies and minimize excess or obsolete stock.
- Track product margin trends and contribute to pricing strategy reviews.
- Ensure regional cycle counting program maintains Reece standards. Provide SME level support on overall inventory integrity issues.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA safety standards, and financial controls.
- Conduct operational audits to identify risk exposures or procedural gaps.
- Support financial audits or internal reviews as needed.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Collaborate with finance, warehouse, logistics, and sales teams to align operations with business goals.
- Logistics & Fleet Management
- Last-Mile Strategy: Support effective practice and execution of staging and loading procedures to reduce lead times and shipping errors.
- Transportation & Routing: Act as SME for delivery route and dispatch platforms.
- Fleet Safety: Support local teams and Supply Chain in effective management of maintenance schedules, DOT compliance, and telematics monitoring for fleet vehicles.
- Productivity & Automation
- Operational Support: Support implementations and daily execution of RF functions, routing and delivery platforms, cycle counting, bin location integrity and other daily warehouse activities.
- Eclipse ERP Management: Utilize Epicor Eclipse to manage order flow, monitor queues, and leverage "Solar" interfaces for real-time data visibility.
- Automation Integration: Support Supply Chain in the evaluate and deployment of warehouse technologies (e.g., automated sorting, conveyor enhancements, or advanced RF hardware).
- Continuous Improvement: Identify bottlenecks and implement Lean or Six Sigma methodologies to improve warehouse throughput.
- KPI Tracking: Support branch operations in defining and reporting on key metrics including Lines Per Hour, Cost Per Shipment, and Safety Incident Rates.
- Serve as a liaison between field operations and corporate finance.
Systems & Tools
- Utilize ERP and inventory systems (e.g., Epicor, NetSuite, SAP) for data analysis and reporting.
- Support rollout of technology solutions for improving financial and operational tracking.
Key Competencies and Skills Required
Data analysis and reporting
- Ability to collect, organize, and interpret data from various sources: This includes databases, sales figures, customer feedback, and other internal/external data sources.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools: Strong proficiency in spreadsheet applications (like Excel), and knowledge of data visualization software (like Tableau or Power BI) is often required. Some roles may also require experience with SQL or other advanced analytical tools.
- Skill in identifying trends, patterns, and anomalies: This is critical for detecting inefficiencies, potential problems, and areas for improvement within the region's operations.
- Ability to create meaningful reports and presentations: Regional operations analysts need to communicate their findings and recommendations clearly and concisely to stakeholders at various levels, from local teams to senior management.

4. Business acumen and operations knowledge
- Understanding of retail operations, merchandising, and retail systems/technology: This is especially relevant for regional operations analysts in the retail industry.
- Knowledge of workforce management and expense management principles: Expertise in analyzing and forecasting workloads, identifying opportunities for optimizing scheduling and payroll management.
- Familiarity with strategic operating plans and their implementation: Understanding how operational strategies align with broader company goals and contribute to overall success.
- Knowledge of Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) relevant to operations: Familiarity with metrics like order fulfillment cycle time, on-time delivery rate, inventory turnover, throughput, and other performance indicators to track and evaluate operational success.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Supply Chain, or related field.
- 5-10 years of experience in operations and/or financial analysis, preferably in plumbing supply, wholesale distribution, construction services, or a similar industry.
- Plumbing, Electrical, HVAC wholesale distribution experience preferred.
- Solid understanding of branch operations, inventory management, and financial performance metrics.
- Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, financial models); experience with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau) is a plus.
- Strong analytical, critical thinking, and communication skills.
- Experience with ERP systems (Eclipse) preferred.
- Expert-level knowledge of RF-based Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Fleet Knowledge: Familiarity with fleet routing software and regional DOT regulations.
