Summary

The Field Operations Scheduler is responsible scheduling support, review daily work escalations by the Contractor and resolve them. This role will coordinate, monitor and track daily appointment completions. The Field Operations Scheduler will escalate special handling cases such as tampering to internal resources. This role is responsible for setup of order feedback integration workflow with Contractor alongside IT, monitor daily file sync and exceptions management.

The day to day will include:

    • Assist in development / coordination of deployment plan preparation
    • Daily route planning / scheduling /monitoring / closure
    • Field escalation office review, routing to relevant resources
    • Installation contractor oversight
    • Quality assurance of order feedback
    • Performance reporting of completed /pending orders
    • Coordinate, monitor and track daily appointments


Minimum Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent and five (5) years' experience in Meter Operations
  • OR Bachelor's degree and three (3) years' experience in Meter Operations.
  • Must possess strong verbal communication and project coordination/management skills, Meter Operations field work knowledge.
  • Strong proficiency in PC software applications.
  • Ability to foster teamwork and collaboration.


Major Accountabilities

1) Responsible for the development, coordination and implementation of weekly and daily work plans and schedules on a real-time basis for Meter Operations. Monitors crew shifts, work orders/assignments and actual work while mobile workforce management crews are in the field and adjusts schedules and assignments as needed.

2) Prioritizes scope and timing in real-time for on-going and emergent work. Respond to systems notifications regarding changing work status and emergencies as they occur and adjusts schedules as needed. Optimizes utilization of resources by monitoring changing work, assessing available crew skillsets, and adjusting crew schedules to best meet changing needs.

3) Coordinates ongoing exceptions based on crew availability, various field activities, PTO, and sick leave.

4) Reviews work order packages to ensure scope and specific work plan will address work assignment. Validates that the materials and equipment necessary for the work package are included. Initiates changes as needed.

5) Plans, schedules, and notifies crews for non-automated orders (i.e. missing/lost meters, meters not on route).

6) Coordinates the variances between planned and actual scheduled work activities.

7) Acts as management's single point of contact for workload management and oversight, to oversee and drive problem resolutions to help ensure schedule adherence and execution.

8) Manages approved crew overtime.

9) Evaluates policies, processes and procedures and develop and initiate actions to improve or make corrections as needed.

Hybrid: Employees in hybrid roles work both in their home offices (virtually) and alongside their colleagues (in person).

In order for employees to build strong relationships and to promote meaningful in-person interactions, hybrid employees are expected to work about 40% of their time in-person at an APS or other (non-home office) location.

  • Employees are expected to reside in Arizona (or New Mexico for Four Corners-based employees).
  • Working from a home office requires adequate technology and an appropriate ergonomic set up.
