Job DescriptionWe're looking for a detail-oriented and reliable Field Technician I to join our team in Saint Rose, United States. In this entry-level position, you will play a crucial role in supporting our field operations by performing essential technical tasks with precision and professionalism. Working under immediate supervision, you will contribute to our mission of maintaining high operational standards while developing your technical skill set in a collaborative and supportive environment.
- Collect samples and conduct observations of products, raw materials, and equipment at designated field locations
- Ensure all sample containers and related documentation are accurately labeled with identifying data, collection location, date, and time
- Transport samples to the laboratory or designated facilities for analysis in a timely manner
- Prepare, reduce, and divide samples to appropriate sizes following established procedures
- Perform sample screening and other related physical tests as directed
- Maintain and organize all equipment and containers before and after use, ensuring they meet operational standards
- Wear and properly utilize all required personal protective equipment (PPE) relevant to assigned tasks
- Comply with all local, federal, and company safety processes and procedures
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors regarding field observations and task completion
- Perform additional preparation or laboratory responsibilities as required by business needs
- Adhere to internal standards, policies, and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned to support operational goals
Qualifications**Required Qualifications:**
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver's license (may be required depending on role responsibilities)
- Intermediate English language skills (written and verbal)
- Basic mathematical skills
- Ability to read and interpret technical documents, safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals
- Ability to follow directions and complete tasks accurately within required timeframes
- Effective communication skills for presenting information to internal and external customers
- Ability to work independently and under moderate supervision
- Strong team player attitude with a customer care focus
- Proficiency with standard office equipment (computers, printers, phones)
- Demonstrated reliability, punctuality, and commitment to safety compliance
- Physical capability to perform field work and handle equipment
**Preferred Qualifications:**
- Advanced English language skills
- Intermediate mathematical skills
- Prior experience with field operations or sample collection
- Familiarity with field equipment operation and maintenance
- Experience working in rotating shift schedules
- Knowledge of safety protocols and procedures
- Certification or training in relevant field operations
**Certifications/Training (May Be Required):**
- Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC) - may be required based on location and role
- 24-hour Surface Mine Safety and Health Administration (MSHA) certificate - may be required; training is provided by the company
- Additional certifications may be required based on specific operational needs
