Head of Data Analytics
Composed of Chromalox, Durex Industries, Vulcanic, and Thermocoax businesses, Electrical Thermal Solutions (ETS), part of Spirax Group, creates electrical process heating and temperature management solutions, including industrial heaters and systems, heat tracing, and a range of component technologies.
At Chromalox, we build advanced thermal technologies for the world's most challenging industrial heating applications.
Headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, we got our start with an innovative solution 100 years ago when a self-taught engineer invented the first metal-sheathed resistance heating element. It was this then-advanced thermal technology that launched an entire industry.
We excel in industries that have high expectations. We are acknowledged as experts at delivering solutions that exceed specifications, limit risk, and reduce operating costs.
Join us as we continue to provide solutions to our customers and the world!
The Role:
Sitting within the IS Leadership Team, the Head of Data & Analytics will be responsible for strategically transforming Electrical Thermal Solutions' (ETS) data capabilities into a business-led, value-driven data product organization that delivers measurable impact.
The Head of Data & Analytics serves as a strategic bridge between business outcomes and data capabilities, ensuring the data roadmap aligns with commercial priorities and has clear executive sponsorship. You are not just building pipelines or reports; you are building trust, momentum, and measurable business impact through data, while empowering a high-performing global data team with shared goals and accountability.
Within your first 12 Months at the organization, you will develop a 3-year data strategy roadmap that is executive-approved and tied to business outcomes. Additionally, you will lead the transition from fragmented, legacy reporting to a modern, scalable Data Platform to deliver data products that enable better, faster decision-making and strategic growth.
Your Responsibilities:
- Own the ETS Data Strategy, including a rolling 3-year roadmap covering initiatives, architecture, investment, and capability growth.
- Act as a trusted partner to senior leaders across Finance, Sales, Supply Chain, Engineering and Manufacturing to identify high-value data use-cases and translate them into clearly-defined data products.
- Establish a transparent demand intake and prioritization model, ensuring the data team focuses on initiatives with the greatest business impact.
- Build compelling, outcome-focused business cases for data initiatives, securing executive sponsorship and sustainable funding aligned to business needs.
- Lead the evolution of the Azure-based Lakehouse (Databricks, Synapse, Data Factory/Logic Apps), with a clear perspective on the role of Microsoft Fabric.
- Ensure consistent, high-quality ingestion from 20+ global ERPs, D365 CRM, and other enterprise platforms, operated as a dependable, business-grade service.
- Deliver a unified, governed Power BI reporting layer that provides consistent KPIs across business units and regions.
- Lead a migration from Cognos BI to Power BI with zero disruption to business operations.
- Establish a data democratization model that enables divisions to create their own insights using trusted, curated datasets, without compromising governance.
- Move beyond one-off reports to owned, supported data products with clear owners, users, and success measures.
- Grow and lead a high-performing, transatlantic data team across the US and EU/UK, developing both technical depth and business acumen.
- Own the strategic relationship with external data service providers, from commercial management to delivery outcomes.
- Define and enforce standards for data quality, security, access management, and regulatory compliance (GDPR, data privacy, regulated industries).
- Establish clear ways of working, service levels, and accountability, so the business knows what to expect from the data function.
Requirements:
- At least 10+ years of experience working in a Data and Analytics environment with a degree in Data Analytics, Finance, Computer Science, Engineering or related field, preferred.
- At least 3+ years of experience leading, coaching and developing a cross-functional team.
- Deep hands-on knowledge of the Microsoft data ecosystem (Databricks, Synapse, Data Factory, Power BI) with a clear view of Fabric's potential role.
- Working experience with articulating the why, value, and trade-offs of data investments at Executive and Leadership level.
- Working experience leading a data function through scale, change, and increasing business expectations.
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity, legacy systems, and organizational resistance to deliver change.
- Deep understanding that data only matters when it drives decisions, behavior, or performance.
- Experience in engineering, manufacturing, or asset-intensive environments is strongly preferred.
