ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY
SUMMARY: Under the direct supervision of the Supervisor, the Housekeeping Attendant is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary, and orderly environment for guests and staff. This role ensures that guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces meet established cleanliness and contribute to a positive guest experience.
SOME OF THE THINGS THAT YOU WILL GET TO DO (this is just a small sampling of work variety):
• Clean, sanitize, and reset guest rooms according to company standards.
• Make beds, replace linens, and replenish amenities.
• Dust, vacuum, sweep, and mop floors.
• Clean bathrooms including sinks, toilets, showers, tubs, and mirrors.
• Report maintenance issues, missing items, or room damage.
• Maintain cleanliness of hallways, elevators, restrooms, and other public spaces.
• Empty trash bins and replace liners.
• Clean windows, glass doors, and other surfaces.
• Follow lost-and-found procedures when handling guest items.
• Greeting guests professionally and answer questions when approached.
• Respond promptly to guest requests or escalate to supervisors.
• Support the overall guest experience with a friendly, helpful attitude.
• Restock housekeeping carts with linens, amenities, cleaning supplies, and equipment.
• Track supply usage and notify supervisors of low inventory.
• Follow proper storage and handling procedures for cleaning chemicals.
• Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation guidelines.
• Use cleaning chemicals and equipment safely and correctly.
• Ability to adhere to regular work schedule which includes evenings, holidays and weekends.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS :
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Familiarity with industrial cleaning equipment and techniques enhances efficiency and effectiveness.
• Background in janitorial or custodial work demonstrates a strong foundation in cleaning procedures.
• Knowledge of hospitality standards and customer service principles helps create a welcoming environment.
• Knowledge of cleaning products, safety procedures, and equipment operation is essential.
Preferred qualifications
• Previous experience in hotel housekeeping or custodial roles is highly desirable
• Previous experience working in a fast-paced hospitality setting.

• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Ability to work efficiently and independently and in a team environment
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedures.
ABOUT US : As the largest employer of students on the Cal Poly Pomona campus, the Foundation offers valuable work experience and hands-on training to approximately 1,500 Cal Poly Pomona students each year.
