Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group (MAPMG) invites applications for an HRMS Intern to join our Human Resources department. This position is a full-time, 40 hours per week, internship opportunity based out of our regional office located in Washington, D.C., with a hybrid work model. Reporting to the HRMS Manager, the HRMS Intern will support a variety of HRMS analytics projects. The HRMS Intern will assist with employee data analysis and modeling, building and designing and an internal HR website, HR audit support, system configuration, and operational improvements that enhance the employee experience and HR service delivery. The intern will gain hands-on experience with HR technology, data analysis, and workflow optimization, and process improvement while contributing to meaningful projects that improve HR operations and the employee experience.

You can expect to:

  • Analyze HR workflows and system capabilities to identify opportunities for automation, optimize internal resources, and enhance overall HR operational effectiveness
  • Assist in designing and developing an internal HR website that centralizes HR resources, policies, and updates to improve accessibility, enhance communication, and support a positive employee experience
  • Develop ad-hoc and recurring reports in UKG Business Intelligence to enable workforce analytics, modeling, and data visualization that drive actionable insights and support strategic HR initiatives
  • Support HR audits, data validation, and reconciliation to maintain data accuracy, quality, and compliance across HRMS systems

What is required:
  • Must be a current student enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree program in Data Analytics, Data Science, or a related field throughout the duration of the internship; Recent college graduates are ineligible for the internship program.
  • Must be available to work full-time, 40 hours a week, during the summer and at 20 hours during the fall.
  • Prior experience with data analysis, HR systems, or analytics projects is a plus.
  • Interest or coursework related to HR technology, workforce analytics, digital content development, or process improvement.
  • Experience with MS Excel, SQL, Databricks, Python, web development tools, or HRMS platforms is preferred
  • Strong attention to detail, analytical thinking, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Interest in improving HR operations and enhancing employee experience through data and technology
  • Must be able to commute to the Washington D.C. regional office as needed
  • Candidates must either currently live in or be willing to relocate to the Washington D.C. metropolitan area
  • Must provide documentation of the Covid vaccine 2-dose series (or J&J 1-dose) prior to October 1, 2023, or documentation for 1-dose of the most current Covid vaccine (Pfizer or Moderna) as a condition of employment. Must provide documentation for the influenza vaccine as a condition of employment.

The starting hourly rate for this position ranges from $20.00 to $25.00, which considers an applicant’s skills and qualifications, certain degrees and prior job experience, training, market data, and other relevant factors. Internships are non-exempt positions and are not eligible for employee benefits.
