Interest Rate Risk Analyst (onsite/hybrid)

Position Overview

As a key member of the Treasury team, you will be part of AgriBank's mission to support the people who feed the world. The Interest Rate Risk Analyst is a key contributor to the monthly Interest Rate Risk process and reporting team. The position accurately updates QRM on a monthly basis with appropriate assumptions for compliance and quarter end reporting, generates accurate risk reports on (but not limited to) EVE, NII, and Gap, and explains changes in risk to the market risk committee. The position performs ad hoc analysis and contributes to report build out as requested. This position also supports the Treasury data strategy and data management environment by providing analytic knowledge.

Job Functions*

Interest Rate Risk Measurement and Reporting

  • Assists in the governance and documentation of the Interest Rate Risk monthly process and reporting function
  • Develops, prepares, and presents compliance and management reports for Bank risk committees, providing clear communication of risk positions
  • Ensures QRM model generates accurate and reliable estimates of the Bank's risk position
  • Contributes to ad hoc attribution and interest rate risk analysis work to help explain change in risk position
  • Actively seeks to improve reporting and analytics, which includes enhancing compliance and management reports and streamlining / automating data inputs
  • Reconciles and maintains accurate month end positions in QRM
  • Collaborates with Treasury's Balance Sheet Management and Loan Pricing teams to ensure proper assumptions and analyses to mitigate risk
  • Prepares the QRM model and the inputs for monthly analysis independently: market yield curves and rate indexes, and loan, debt, investment, and derivative transactions.
  • Reviews new transactions and resolves data errors. Reconciles opening balance sheet position to general ledger and reviews position for reasonableness.
  • Prepares special analyses as part of standard calendar reviews of key modeling assumptions (such as NII Backtest, debt replenishment assumptions, QRM annual assumption review), documenting the results for Treasury

Data Strategy and Governance
  • Serves as an active QRM governance committee member responsible for accurate implementation of approved QRM model changes in the Hub and rotates through leadership role at governance meetings
  • Uses and applies Treasury data to drive value for the Bank and our customers
  • Validates all proposed QRM model changes ensuring the changes will not create any issues for TRM or ERM production processes
  • Assists in updating the Hub with month end objects and Cherwell ticket submissions

Projects
  • Contributes to a variety of duties and projects that further Treasury and Bank goals and that provide development opportunities
  • Contributes to collaborative team environment

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, or statistics
  • 3 years of related experience
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to perform the essential functions of the job

Knowledge
  • Intermediate knowledge of quantitative risk management (QRM) or related ALM software
  • Intermediate knowledge of the banking industry and asset/liability management practice
  • Intermediate knowledge of financial, economic, and accounting concepts
  • Intermediate knowledge and ability to query large data sets Intermediate knowledge of QRM

Skills
  • Intermediate proficiency with statistical software or statistical spreadsheet tools (e.g., R, Python, MATLAB)
  • Intermediate proficiency with structured query language (SQL) and relational databases
  • Intermediate proficiency in querying large data sets
  • Intermediate proficiency in office software Microsoft Office Suite

Physical Requirements
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times

The typical base range for this role is between $78,000 - $120,000. Compensation may vary based on individual job-related knowledge, skills, expertise, and experience. The position is eligible for a discretionary annual incentive program driven by organization and individual performance.
