We are seeking a highly motivated Data Analytics Intern to join us for our summer internship program!

Role Description:

We are seeking a highly motivated Data Analytics Intern to support a key project that is working with the City of New York to modernize and automate a voucher-based system for low-income housing.

Key Responsibilities

- Develop a foundational "analytics 101" best-practices reference for the team's wiki, under the guidance of senior analysts, applying current ML/analytics knowledge and building it out with project-specific context.

- Support Ad Hoc data requests - light ETL, data preparation, and basic modeling - under the guidance of senior analysts.

- Validate analytical outputs against expected results and document workflows for accuracy and maintainability.

- Practice translating technical/quantitative concepts into clear, business-friendly communication.

Qualifications

- Pursuing a degree in Applied/Computational Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.

- Working proficiency in Python; familiarity with SQL, Git, and data workflows a plus.

- Foundation in numerical methods, statistics, or computational modeling.

- Strong written communication; self-directed and eager to learn.

The current hourly rate is $22.00. This position is classified as non-exempt, eligible for overtime in accordance with applicable law.

As part of our commitment to maintaining a compliant workplace, all final candidates will undergo and must pass a comprehensive background screening prior to starting work. This screening may include, but is not limited to, verification of employment history, education, criminal records, and other relevant checks. For certain positions, additional client-specific background screenings may be required in the future, in accordance with client requirements.

Voyatek does significant work with Federal and State tax and revenue authorities. If applicable to this role, all hires will be required to obtain a Federal Public Trust Clearance (Moderate Background Investigation). This clearance process may start upon offer acceptance; and must be cleared prior to working on these projects.
