Job Responsibilities:
Position Overview
Magna's ADAS technologies are shaping an autonomous future and improving lives.
The ADAS Intern/Co‑op (onsite) supports the ADAS team by developing, integrating, testing, and debugging next‑generation ADAS algorithms such as Highway Pilot, Urban Maneuvering, Automatic Emergency Braking, Automated Parking & Trailering Assist, Trained Parking, Valet Parking, and other similar features.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop building blocks for ADAS features using either model-based design or software-based robotics framework
- Integrate new or modified Simulink models or software modules (e.g., C++/ROS2 nodes) into the test environment.
- Create or modify test cases based on the requirements to cover the new or modified functionalities
- Debug issues found and root cause them
- Report and document issues; Propose correction to issue reported
- Perform systems testing of products on bench and support testing in vehicles making sure the product functions and performs as the customer expects per requirements.
Qualifications:
- Holds bachelor's degree in engineering
- Valid Driver's license
Education / Experience
- Enrolled in a master's or PhD degree program in Electrical Engineering / Automotive Engineering/ Mechanical Engineering/Computer Science or equivalent
Special Knowledge / Skills:
Mandatory:
- Experience with one or more of the following: model‑based design (Matlab/Simulink), robotics middleware (ROS2), or C++ software development for ADAS/AD applications.
- Coursework or projects or work experience related to ADAS, autonomous systems, robotics, control systems, vehicle dynamics, or software development for intelligent systems.
- Familiarity with ADAS or autonomous driving concepts
- Ability to work with simulation or software test environments
- Troubleshooting/debugging skills
- Good documentation and reporting habits
- Problem‑solving and critical‑thinking mindset
- Must follow safety procedures for vehicle testing and bench testing environments
- Attention to detail
Preferred:
- Experience with CarMaker/CarSim/Carla/Equivalent software
- Experience in ADAS/AD academic/industry projects
- Experience executing test suites in MIL/SIL or software‑centric simulation environments
- Working knowledge in development of portable, reusable and modular software in automotive environment.
