About the role:
Provide IT services to all USA Divisions within the ALS Laboratory Group.
Responsibilities
About you:
• Intermediate Active Directory task work - account and object creation and modification; working with Security Groups and Organizational Units; Intermediate use of PowerShell for gathering info.
• Intermediate Exchange and/or Office365 task work - troubleshooting email address issues; checking and updating distribution lists.
• Intermediate break/fix for end-users - troubleshooting more advanced issues with connectivity; peripherals; hardware; and software as escalated from Level 1 Specialists.
• Basic task work with Windows Servers - Install and manage File Services, DHCP, Print Servers, etc. on existing servers at a single and possibly a couple remote environments. Some work with building and installing servers.
• Basic work with Network hardware and protocols - Switch install and basic configuration. Troubleshooting Routing and Switching issues.
• Assisting Level 1 Specialists with setting up accounts and hardware for incoming hires and disabling access for departing employees - building accounts; imaging and deploying hardware; retrieving hardware, printer connectivity; Outlook and MSOffice issues; password resets; troubleshooting wireless/wired connectivity; folder/file permissions.
• Simple documentation.
• Work with tickets in ServiceDesk Plus and assist Service Delivery Team
• Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
• A minimum of (6) years technical support experience Supporting PC's and wireless devices.
• Experience in a Windows environment (Windows desktop, Windows Server).
• Assist Infrastructure Team with Server and Network hardware troubleshooting and network administration.
• Technical certifications in PC or network-related areas are a plus (CCNA, MCSE).
• Ability to be on-call for critical off-hours support on a rotating basis (monthly).
• High school/GED.
• Demonstrated expertise in Microsoft 365 Admin Center and Exchange Admin Center, improving operational efficiency by managing users, optimizing security policies, and resolving complex Exchange-related issues.
• Strong knowledge of Office365, and Active Directory.
• Intermediate Knowledge of network connectivity, protocols and security devices to include VPN troubleshooting.
• Willing to travel as needed to support operational sites throughout the Pacific Northwest.
• Good in-person, phone, and written communication skill; managing expectations, deescalating stressed users/situations.
