About the role:

We are seeking a full-time Laboratory Technician to support testing within our food laboratory. This role is responsible for performing a variety of analytical and microbiological tests on food products to ensure quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. The ideal candidate will follow all safety, quality, and food handling guidelines while maintaining productivity and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.

About you:

  • Perform laboratory analyses on food samples in accordance with established Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), including microbiological, chemical, and/or physical testing.
  • Conduct scheduled instrument calibrations, standardizations, and quality control checks (e.g., SPC).
  • Prepare samples for testing, including homogenization, dilution, and aseptic handling where required.
  • Maintain and perform routine maintenance on laboratory equipment and instrumentation.
  • Accurately complete all documentation related to sample tracking, test results, and quality control.
  • Enter and verify data in laboratory information management systems (LIMS) or other databases.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and food-safe laboratory environment in compliance with sanitation standards.
  • Follow proper procedures for sample storage, retention, and disposal in accordance with food safety guidelines.
  • Route samples for additional or specialized testing as required.
  • Adhere to all local, corporate, and regulatory requirements, including food safety standards such as HACCP, FDA/USDA guidelines, and ISO 17025 accreditation.
  • Meet individual productivity targets while maintaining high standards of accuracy and quality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or laboratory experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of good laboratory practice.
  • Comfortable in high paced production environment.
Physical Demands:
  • The ability to stand for intervals of up to 8 hours while working.
  • Able to speak and hear clearly while communicating with co-workers and managers.
  • Dexterity in hands and fingers to operate equipment and handle glassware.
  • Must have average vision and able to see to read reports and operate equipment.
