Summary
Schedule: 6:30am-3pm, Saturday and Sunday. The Lead Food Service Worker performs a variety of functions related to the safe assembly, distribution and service of food for Hospital patients, visitors and staff.

Essential Functions
-Attends department meetings, monthly in-services, training classes, etc., as assigned.

-Anticipates and meets customer needs; takes appropriate steps to rectify issues.

-Maintains cleanliness of work areas and equipment. Regularly works on sanitation projects assigned by manager.

-Demonstrates a positive and friendly attitude.

-Adheres to all HACCP standards.

-Alerts supervisor to any concerns, discrepancies, product shortages, etc.

-Actively supports and upholds department goals to maintain or improve operations and customer satisfaction and drive Press Ganey satisfaction scores.

-Sets up and stocks food station for meal service. Assembles, delivers and/or retrieves patient meal trays. Prepares food items for trayline.

-Position may include operating dish machine, trash compactor, mopping floors.

-Serves as primary trainer of new employees as well as cross-training of fellow employees.

-Acts as a mentor to new hires: supporting their training and development, assessing their learning gaps, offering guidance, and providing feedback to the management team during the new hire probationary period.

-Serves as an ambassador or champion for department and hospital initiatives.

-Actively participates in and supports department Lean initiatives and submits cost-saving and time-saving ideas.

-Leads by example and displays initiative in assisting coworkers.

Qualifications

Education High School Diploma or Equivalent required Can this role accept experience in lieu of a degree? No Licenses and Credentials Servsafe Food Handlers Certification - Servsafe National Restaurant Association preferred Experience A minimum of two years experience with room service dining. required A minimum of one year experience at BWFH as a Food Service Worker required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Staff adheres to all I C.A.R.E. Standards. - Must be able to read menu items in English (exception is the pot-washer position). - Must be able to communicate in English (exception is the pot-washer position). - Must be able to juggle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment. - Work requires ability to push trucks and carts with food and supplies. - Must be proficient in all trayline and room service positions. - Has demonstrated good rapport with nursing. - Performance Appraisals indicate consistent, high performance; with top scores in the I-CARE Standards. - Has not been in a disciplinary process and has no patient complaints regarding service.
