Licensed Family Consultant in the Hampshire County Family Resolutions Specialty Court (FRSC) Behavioral Health Network, Inc.
Join a team of competent and compassionate professionals as a Family Consultant in the Family Resolutions Specialty Court (FRSC) in Hampshire County! Family Consultants are licensed mental health professionals employed by Behavioral Health Network and appointed to individual families in FRSC. As members of the FRSC team assigned to each separating/divorcing family, the Family Consultants help parents find ways to reduce conflict, improve communication, and make decisions about how to co-parent and live with their children in two separate homes-the details of which are captured in an agreed-upon Co-Parenting Plan.
Your experience, knowledge and skills will support the Family Resolutions Specialty Court (FRSC) program with the following:
- Connecting parents with community services and resources, as needed, for themselves and their children.
- Providing information about children's developmental needs;
- Providing information about child, adolescent, and adult needs in the context of family dissolution and family conflict;
- Providing information to the parents about collaborative parenting and decision-making, parental communication, and other parenting issues;
- Helping parents practice co-parenting.
- Facilitating the development of a parenting plan with separating/divorcing parents;
- Working with the FRSC Team , which includes a mediator, court staff, and attorneys for the parents and children to support parents through the FRSC process.
- Working in accordance with the laws of confidentiality and privilege with any external behavioral health professional(s) serving one or more members of the family.
Who are we? The Family Resolutions Specialty Court is a problem-solving court to help Parents with a child or children under 18 settle issues in Probate and Family Court. FRSC offers:
- Support for co-parents to manage and reduce conflict,
- Help settling parenting and financial arrangements collaboratively in the child/ren's best interests,
- And tools for productive future parenting and co-parenting.
Parents meet with a judge and additional legal staff in Court Conferences as needed to aid parents in settling their cases.

What are we looking for in a Licensed Family Consultant? - Master's degree or higher in a mental health field (required).
- Independent licensure in a behavioral health field required (LADC, LICSW, LMHC, LMFT).
- Familiarity with local services and providers such as mediation, conciliation, housing and economic programs, parent education, mental health treatment, substance use treatment, special education, professional financial advice, etc. (required).
- Knowledge of adult development in the context of family dissolution and family conflict (required).
- Knowledge of child development and development in the context of family dissolution and family conflict (required).
- Experience in and commitment to working collaboratively with a team (required).
- Experience with the court system as a Guardian Ad Litem, expert witness, or through educational opportunities such as specialized courses regarding family law (preferred).
- Experience providing mar ital/c o-parent counseling i n the context of family dissolution and family conflict ( preferred ).
