Volt is immediately hiring for Machine Operator in Norfolk, VA
As a Machine Operator, you will:
- Responsible for manufacturing and making repairs per instructions and/or drawings, operate all machine shop equipment (VTL, HBM, Horizontal Lathes, Mill, and etc.), operate overhead cranes and perform rigging, perform incoming and outgoing inspections, and properly fill out all paperwork.
- Responsible for preparing and maintaining machines for pump fabrication and ensure they're running smoothly.
- Responsible for measuring, recording, and validating pump components using tools like Vernier Calipers, Micrometres, etc, within .0005".
- Responsible for analysing design drawings, work orders, and production schedules to ensure accuracy.
- Responsible for operating all manual machinery, support pump teardown and assembly, and follow safety procedures.
- Responsible for adhering to safety guidelines for machining, cutting, and transporting equipment.
This is a
full-time contract opportunity.
The
ideal candidate will have:
- 5+ years is required machine operation and fabrication.
- Experience in build tools or fixtures with minimal direction and perform various repair machining activities.
Preferred Skills and Qualifications: Pay Rate: $19.00 - $22.00per hour *Pay range offered to a successful candidate will be based on several factors, including the candidate's education, work experience, work location, specific job duties, certifications, etc.
