Job Requirements
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager for our Physical Plant to oversee the operations, maintenance, and management of our facility's physical infrastructure. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the efficient functioning of all mechanical, electrical, and structural systems, while maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory standards. This role requires strong leadership, strategic planning, and problem-solving abilities to support the organization's operational goals.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Manage and supervise all physical plant operations including maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.
- Develop and implement preventive maintenance programs to ensure optimal equipment performance.
- Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and internal teams to execute projects and resolve issues.
- Monitor compliance with safety regulations and environmental standards.
- Prepare and manage budgets related to physical plant operations.
- Lead and mentor the physical plant team to promote a culture of safety, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
- Oversee energy management initiatives to optimize resource utilization and reduce costs.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
Required Qualifications
-Bachelor's Degree in electrical or mechanical engineering or a related field from an accredited college or university, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
-Accredited by American Hospital Association as a Certified Healthcare Facility Manager (CHFM) or fifteen years' experience in Facility Plant and/or Facility Maintenance operations preferred.
-Ten years supervising skilled tradespersons and design professionals. Five years in Plant and/or Facilities Maintenance, Facilities management, Facilities Construction Management leadership in a Hospital or Bio-Medical research facility organizations..
Preferred Qualifications
- Proven experience in managing physical plant operations or facilities management.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and building systems.
- Excellent leadership and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
- Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance standards.
- Relevant certifications or degrees in engineering, facilities management, or related fields preferred.
