The Parts Operations Manager for Welbilt's Merrychef and Convotherm brands, is responsible for the daily operations of the parts department, including customer communication support, forecasting, pricing strategy, inventory oversight, and operational workflow. This role ensures high service levels, efficient purchasing, and accurate parts availability to support internal and external customer needs. Working closely with the domestic and international Brand leadership teams to direct the Customer Service and Purchasing teams which report directly to this position.
Reporting directly to the Technical Service Director, this full-time onsite position is based in Coppell, TX.
Major Accountability:
- Supervise Parts Operations teams to ensure strong performance, service quality, and efficient workflows.
- Optimize forecasting, inventory, and purchasing to minimize stockouts, control costs, and support demand.
- Support customer communication and escalations to ensure timely, accurate, and proactive service.
- Manage pricing and margin performance while partnering cross-functionally to support business goals.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities:Operational Leadership - Lead, coach, and develop the Customer Service and Purchasing teams to ensure high performance, accountability, and service excellence.
- Establish and maintain efficient processes for order management, purchasing, inventory control, and parts fulfillment.
- Provide supporting department KPI data to drive continuous improvement initiatives.
Customer Communication & Service - Serve as the primary data support for customer issues and complex inquiries related to parts availability, pricing, and order status.
- Ensure the Customer Service team delivers timely, accurate, and professional communication.
- Develop standards for proactive communication regarding delays, backorders, and product updates.
- Provide information for direct communications and meetings with customers and end users.
Forecasting & Inventory Management - Analyze demand trends to create accurate parts forecasts and ensure optimal inventory levels.
- Collaborate with Purchasing to reduce stockouts, minimize excess inventory, and optimize supplier lead times.
- Review slow-moving or obsolete inventory and recommend corrective actions.
- Provide forecast data to the manufacturing / operations teams on a regular schedule.
Pricing & Cost Management - Develop and maintain parts price lists with pricing strategies that aligned with company objectives and market conditions.
- Review supplier costs, evaluate pricing changes, and ensure margin targets are achieved.
- Communicate to customers current price list information along with providing a monthly parts bulletin regarding new, obsolete and replacement part changes that have occurred.
Purchasing Oversight - Oversee purchasing activities to ensure timely procurement of parts and materials.
- Maintain strong vendor relationships and evaluate supplier performance, pricing, and reliability.
- Ensure purchasing processes align with budget, accuracy, and quality expectations.
Cross-Functional Collaboration - Partner with Operations, Sales, Finance, and Service teams to align on inventory planning, product launches, promotions, and customer requirements.
- Participate in strategic discussions related to supply chain efficiency and customer experience improvements.

Qualifications Education and Experience: - Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Business, Supply Chain Management, Finance or relevant area is required.
- 5 years' relevant experience in Parts Operations, Supply Chain or Inventory Management is required.
Skill and Abilities: - Proven ability to lead, coach, and develop high performing teams
- Strong customer focus with experience handling escalations and delivering service excellence
- Demonstrated ability to make data driven decisions and interpret operational metrics
- Strong problem solving and critical thinking skills
- Experience in negotiation and managing vendor or supplier relationships
- Track record of driving process improvements and operational efficiency initiatives
- Excellent cross-functional communication and organizational skills
- Proficiency with Excel, ERP systems and inventory or purchasing software. QAD experience is preferred.

- Must be able to sit/stand/walk for extended periods of time.
- Ability to travel up to 5% of the time.
- Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs.
