Position Summary


We are seeking a Full Time Night Shift Monitor Technician to join our healthcare team. This role supports patient care on our 3South Telemetry Unit and plays a key part in maintaining patient safety and clinical communication.

Under the direction of licensed nursing staff, the Monitor Technician provides continuous cardiac rhythm monitoring for telemetry patients and promptly reports any changes to the care team. The role also supports hands‑on patient care and daily clinical needs.


Full Time Night Shift

Schedule: 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. with every other weekend commitment.

CNA license required.


Key Responsibilities


The following statements describe the general nature and level of work performed and are not intended to be an exhaustive list of all duties.


  • Provide direct patient care under the supervision of licensed nursing staff.
  • Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including mobility, toileting, hygiene, and feeding.
  • Obtain, document, and report vital signs and patient observations.
  • Support patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
  • Promote patient safety and maintain a clean, safe care environment.
  • Conduct blood glucose monitoring.
  • Perform venipuncture for blood draws and collect specimens.
  • Assist with and establish IV access as directed by the registered nurse.
  • Gather equipment and assist with IV placement as directed by the registered nurse.
  • Monitor and document intake and output, including urinary and stool output, calorie counts, and patient weight.
  • Operate EKG equipment, including setting up multi‑lead monitors, attaching and removing leads, and running rhythm strips.
  • Assist with telemetry monitoring and communicate rhythm changes to the care team.
  • Assist with enteral tube feedings via nasogastric or gastrostomy tubes under licensed nurse supervision.
  • Perform chest physiotherapy, tracheal suctioning, tracheostomy care, and incentive spirometry as delegated and supervised by a registered nurse.
  • Assist with routine and simple dressing changes, including stage I and II wounds, surgical incisions, and peripheral IV sites after RN assessment.
  • Provide catheter care and assist with urinary devices as delegated.
  • Communicate observed changes in patient condition promptly to the healthcare team.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Education & Experience


  • Valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in good standing with the Maryland Board of Nursing required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • National Paramedic Certification preferred.
  • Medical terminology coursework preferred.


Full Time Night Shift Availability

Schedule: 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m. with every other weekend commitment.
