The University of Chicago's Department of Neurology is searching for full-time neuro-oncologist faculty at any rank. Academic rank and compensation are dependent upon qualifications. Appointees will join a growing neurosciences service line with the opportunity to practice across University of Chicago's expanding clinical network. Practice locations will include Hyde Park - home to our new free-standing Cancer Hospital - as well as ambulatory care sites in Northwest Indiana, the south suburbs of Chicago, and downtown Chicago. In addition to clinical responsibilities spanning outpatient clinic and inpatient service, appointees will actively participate in educational and research activities, including the training of fellows, residents, and medical students.
Appointees will join a multidisciplinary team in brain tumor therapeutics comprised of established clinicians in neurology, neurosurgery, radiation oncology, and medical oncology and collaborate with existing institutional expertise in oncology drug development, clinical pharmacology, immunology, and pharmacogenomics. The University is also home to the Ludwig Center for Metastasis Research and the Neurosciences Institute and the Grossman Center for Quantitative Biology and Human Behavior.
In addition, appointees may also participate in other research activity such as clinical trials. Appointees will have experience in neuro-oncology clinical trials and leverage the available infrastructure and resources in the Department of Neurology and UChicago Cancer Center to successfully launch and conduct innovative clinical trials in neuro-oncology.
Prior to the start of employment, qualified applicants must: 1) have a medical doctorate or equivalent, 2) hold or be eligible for medical licensure in the State of Illinois and Indiana, 3) have completed an ACGME accredited residency in neurology, 4) be board certified or board eligible in neurology, and 5) have completed a neuro-oncology fellowship and be UCNS neuro-oncology eligible or certified.
