Position Summary:
The Oncology Chemotherapy Scheduling Coordinator is responsible for managing high-volume, complex scheduling workflows for oncology patients, including chemotherapy, infusion, radiation, imaging, and multidisciplinary consultations. This role ensures seamless coordination across departments, maintains compliance with treatment protocols, and supports high-quality patient care through efficient scheduling practices. The coordinator serves as a liaison between patients, providers, nursing teams, and administrative staff, with extensive use of Epic for scheduling and documentation.
What you will do:
  • Manage a high volume of daily appointments across multiple service lines including infusion, labs, imaging, and consultations.
  • Interpret oncology treatment plans and translate them into accurate appointment schedules.
  • Utilize Epic to schedule, modify, and track patient appointments, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Coordinate with pharmacy, nursing, and providers to ensure readiness for treatment.
  • Monitor and follow up on missed or canceled appointments.
  • Maintain scheduling accuracy and resolve Epic-related issues in collaboration with IT and clinical teams.

What you will need:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 1 year of scheduling experience in oncology or infusion therapy.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, especially oncology related.
  • Proficiency in the Epic EMR system is required.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and multitasking skills.
  • Experience managing high-volume scheduling in a clinical setting.
Working Conditions:
  • Requires long periods of sitting at the front desk answering phones and checking in patients.
