Indiana University (IU) Online is dedicated to maintaining the academic integrity of an Indiana University (IU) degree while expanding online education offerings to students locally, nationally, and internationally. As a university-wide office, IU Online provides strategic leadership in delivering online education, leveraging IU's scale, resources, and reputation. In alignment with the IU 2030 Strategic Plan, IU Online is committed to growing student enrollment to 25,000 in online programs by developing innovative programs and services in collaboration with IU's campuses.
IU Online, under the Office of the Vice President for Regional Campuses and Online Education (VPRCOE), partners with IU's academic units, as well as UITS' Teaching and Learning Technologies (TLT) for instructional design and learning technology and with University Communications and Marketing (UCM) for marketing, to develop, launch, and maintain online programs. As of Fall 2025, IU Online offers 200+ academic programs, 57 of which are collaborative academic programs across IU's 9 campuses with an enrollment of 10,385 students. The office manages admissions, recruitment, student services, administration, advising, reporting, program and assessment support, and compliance for online programs.
Job Summary
The Part-time Admissions Coordinator reports to the Associate Director for Enrollment Management.
Department-Specific Responsibilities
- Helps manage email inbox queue; communicates to prospective students, incomplete applicants, and applicants as necessary.
- Responsible for routine reporting to support first-year, transfer, visiting, and 2nd Bachelor's applicants with online program inquiries.
- Processes received applications.
- Works with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) administrator to monitor and maintain prospect communication within the CRM system.
- Completes and submits requests for transcript retrieval from various supplier software solutions.
- Receives, scans, and securely stores physical transcripts.
- Provides various data entry functions for admissions applications.
- Maintains admissions files.
- Monitors the technical status of admission applications from applicant through matriculation.
- Downloads, monitors, and corrects online applications.
- Routes applications through IU's 7 campuses.
- Develops collaborative working relationships with admissions and recruitment teammates on all IU campuses, counterparts in Admissions, Financial Aid, academic programs, and other IU Online partners to achieve and exceed enrollment targets.
- Develops and maintains a working knowledge of admissions included within the online student information system.
QualificationsEDUCATION
Required- High school diploma or equivalent (HSED or GED).
WORK EXPERIENCE
Required- 1 year of clerical experience in a high-paced office setting.
Preferred- Experience in higher education, student recruitment, student services, or corporate sales.
SKILLS
Required
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to resolve problems and handle situations with care, diplomacy, and confidentiality.
- Integrity and attention to detail, especially when processing high volume work needs.
- Proficient with online technology and computer programs, including Microsoft Office, CRMs, and enterprise systems.
- Self-directed, with the ability to work independently and alongside others as a team member.
Preferred
- Experience with PeopleSoft SIS (Student Information Systems) and Salesforce.
- Combinations of related education and experience may be considered.
Working Conditions / DemandsThis role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.
Additional InformationEmployee proximity to south-central and central Indiana is desirable.

This position is eligible for remote work or to work a hybrid schedule (mix between remote and in-person work), subject to change in the future based on university policy and business needs.
Advertised SalaryUp to $20.00 per hour.
Work Hours20-29 hours per week
Largely between 8:00am - 5:00pm EST, Monday - Friday.
