The Student Academic Center offers a variety of courses designed to promote students' academic success at the university. All carry credit from the School of Education that can be applied as electives in most degree programs.
Job Summary
Teaching Interns for EDUC-X156 College and Life Long Learning are assistants in the "Academic Coaching" class at the Student Academic Center. Interns have weekly leadership responsibilities in the X156 class beginning with the fall semester.
Department-Specific Responsibilities
- Leads small group discussions and team-building activities.
- Works as an academic coach for 6 of the students enrolled in X156.
- Helps their students think about the upcoming week, plan their academic responsibilities, identify areas to work, set weekly goals, offer accountability, and encourage their students as they strive for success.
QualificationsEDUCATION
Required- Currently enrolled as a student at Indiana University
SKILLS
Required- Proficient communication skills
Working Conditions / DemandsThis role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment. The position involves sedentary work as well as periods of time moving around an office environment and the campus. The person in this role must be able to move objects weighing up to 25 pounds. The person in this role must be able to perform the essential functions with or without an accommodation.

Advertised Salary$13.85 per hour
Work Hours10 hours per week beginning in Fall 2026.
Full weekly training will be provided.
