The Payroll Specialist is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and deep familiarity with ADP Workforce Now.
Key Responsibilities
- Process bi-weekly or semi-monthly payroll using ADP Workforce Now
- Maintain employee payroll records, including new hires, terminations, and status changes
- Review and validate timesheets, hours worked, and pay adjustments
- Ensure compliance with wage and hour laws, tax regulations, and company policies
- Reconcile payroll reports and resolve discrepancies
- Manage payroll deductions, garnishments, and benefits-related entries
- Prepare payroll reports for finance, HR, and leadership
- Respond to employee payroll inquiries with professionalism and accuracy
- Support year-end processes, including W-2 preparation and audits
Qualifications
- 2-4 years of payroll experience, preferably in a multi-state environment
- Strong proficiency with ADP Workforce Now (required)
- Solid understanding of payroll laws and regulations
- High level of accuracy, confidentiality, and organizational skill
- Proficiency in Excel and general HR/payroll systems
- Strong problem-solving and communication abilities
