Location: Aston, PA and community-based early childhood sites throughout Delaware County Schedule: Start times between 8:00 AM-9:00 AM; typical end time around 3:00 PM Employment Type: Contract / Substitute Support

About the Role
The Personal Care Assistant (PCA) supports an Early Intervention program serving children ages 3 through kindergarten entry who have developmental delays or special needs. PCAs assist with instructional activities, behavioral support, and personal care needs in both classroom and community-based early childhood settings.

Assignments may involve supporting small groups of 3-5 students or providing 1:1 assistance, depending on individual needs.

Key ResponsibilitiesInstructional Support

• Assist teachers in implementing instructional plans and reinforcing learning activities.
  
• Provide one-on-one or small-group academic support as directed.
  
• Use IEP Writer to support documentation and student planning.
  
• Collect and report data on student performance and behavior.
  

Behavioral & Social Support

• Implement behavior intervention strategies under staff guidance.
  
• Support students in developing appropriate social and behavioral skills.
  
• Assist with crisis intervention following Safety Care/CPI training.
  

Personal Care & Daily Living

• Support students with feeding, toileting, positioning, and mobility needs.
  
• Monitor student health and safety throughout the day.
  
• Assist during transitions, meals, and non-classroom activities.
  

Professional Collaboration

• Participate in team meetings and IEP discussions as needed.
  
• Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and related service providers.
  
• Maintain professionalism, cultural sensitivity, and confidentiality at all times.
  

Environment & Compliance

• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment.
  
• Follow all program policies, including dress code and technology use standards.
  
• Complete required documentation, including daily sign-in/sign-out logs.
  
• Complete 20 hours of required annual training.
  

Additional Notes

• Some positions are located at the Aston site; others are in community daycare settings. Candidate preference will be considered.
  
• Clearances (FBI fingerprints, Child Abuse, etc.) are preferred but not required for substitute roles.
  
• Supplemental assignments may be adjusted based on staffing needs and incoming referrals.
  

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
  
• Reliable transportation.
  
• Safety Care or CPI training (required).
  
• Ability to use IEP Writer (required).
