Position Summary

The Procurement Manager is a working leader responsible for building a high‑performing procurement team, owning the end‑to‑end sourcing cycle, and ensuring continuity of supply across assigned categories. This role contributes to both local and global procurement strategies, drives sustainability and cost performance, and demonstrates the wider Global Supply Chain (GSC) network to improve capability, supplier performance, and long‑term resilience.



Required Qualifications:

Education: Degree or equivalent experience in Procurement, Engineering or Business

Experience: 10+ years' procurement/supply chain experience, including category oversight and vendor development.

o Management experience in a lean/world ‑ class manufacturing environment preferred.

o Proven success operating within global or matrixed organizations.

Certifications: Member of a recognized global procurement institute such as Association for Supply Chain Management (ASCM) or Institute of Supply Management (ISM) and either hold or be working towards professional qualification.

Primary Functions

Strategic Procurement Leadership
  • Lead full procurement lifecycle from need identification through contract management and supplier performance improvement.
  • Translate global and divisional procurement strategies into practical, local sourcing plans.


Supply Chain Sustainability & Risk Management
  • Ensure continuity of supply through proactive risk identification, mitigation, and dual‑sourcing strategies.
  • Engage suppliers who support environmental sustainability and business resilience goals.
  • Influence internal partners to minimize waste and adopt responsible sourcing practices.



Category Strategy Development & Global Network Teamwork
  • Develop comprehensive category strategies grounded in cost, quality, delivery, and sustainability.
  • Build strong working relationships across the GSC procurement network to share standard methodologies, harmonize supplier strategies, and harness collective buying power.
  • Use matrix working to drive consistent global outcomes.



Team Leadership & Capability Growth
  • Build a strong functional team, set clear standards, and coach team members to deliver high performance.
  • Strengthen procurement capability through development, empowerment, and succession planning.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and data‑driven decision making.



Additional Job Functions

Category & Supplier Management
  • Own supplier selection, development, rationalization, and strategic relationship management.
  • Conduct fact‑based analysis and provide clear recommendations to leadership.
  • Conduct national and international supplier visits to support quality, cost, and delivery improvements.


Cost Management & Commercial Performance
  • Lead cost‑reduction, value engineering, and cost‑avoidance activities.
  • Recover supplier non‑quality costs and partner with Finance to ensure adherence to payment terms.
  • Support margin improvement by diversifying sources, increasing competitiveness, and eliminating supply‑chain risk.



Contracting & Strategic Supplier Management
  • Negotiate commercial agreements aligned with business objectives and sustainability standards.
  • Ensure fit‑for‑purpose terms, conditions, and whole‑life cost assessments.
  • Manage supplier capabilities for NPI/NPD and ensure manufacturability in early design stages.



Tools, Systems & Performance Management
  • Implement and improve procurement tools, systems, and data transparency.
  • Achieve SQCDM metrics and drive corrective action where results are below expectations.
  • Enhance team knowledge of markets, commodities, and compliance requirements.
