Mid-Atlantic Permanente Medical Group (MAPMG) invites applications for a Professional Development Graphics and Media Intern to join our Professional Development and Wellness (PDW) Department. This position is a part-time, 32 hours per week, internship opportunity based out of our regional office located in Washington, D.C. with a hybrid work model. Reporting to the Professional Development and Wellness (PDW) leadership team, the Professional Development Graphics and Media Intern supports the department in the creation and implementation of multimedia assets, branding elements, and graphic designs that enhance professional development initiatives across the organization. This role contributes to projects involving visual branding, media production, and digital design to support learning resources, internal communications, and departmental initiatives.

You can expect to:

  • Collaborate with the Professional Development team to design branding elements, logos, and visual assets for web, email, posters, presentations, and video content while ensuring consistency with organizational standards.
  • Create graphics, illustrations, and layout templates that enhance learning materials, professional development resources, and internal communication campaigns.
  • Translate project goals and stakeholder feedback into clear visual concepts and compelling design solutions.
  • Produce and edit multimedia elements including graphics, image assets, intro templates, and short-form video content to support PDW initiatives.
  • Prepare design files for multiple formats and platforms to ensure consistency, accessibility, and quality across digital and print channels.
  • Maintain organized design libraries, version control, and documentation to support ongoing and future branding initiatives.
  • Support PDW project teams by preparing mockups, revising drafts based on feedback, and ensuring visual consistency across materials.

Additional responsibilities and opportunities include:
  • Participating in cross-departmental tech, media, and design initiatives that support professional development programs.
  • Contributing creative ideas for storytelling, internal marketing, and engagement strategies for professional development programming.
  • Gaining exposure to brand evaluation processes and how branding strategies are implemented in a corporate environment.
  • Developing technical skills using Adobe Creative Cloud and the Microsoft 365 suite, while learning best practices for branding and media production.

What is required:
  • Must be a current student enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Graphic Design, Visual Communication, Digital Media, Advertising, Art, or a related creative field.
  • Strong interest in graphic design, branding, logo creation, and multimedia content development.
  • Familiarity with basic design tools such as Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, Figma, or similar design software.
  • Interest in learning additional tools, including Microsoft 365 applications and Microsoft Copilot.
  • Strong analytical, creative problem-solving, and visual communication skills suitable for entry-level creative work.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration skills with the ability to contribute to team-based projects.
  • Ability to manage multiple small creative projects and meet deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Self-motivated, reliable, and able to work both independently and collaboratively in a professional learning environment. Must be able to commute to the Washington D.C. regional office as needed
  • Candidates must either currently live in or be willing to relocate to the Washington D.C. metropolitan area
  • Must provide documentation of the Covid vaccine 2-dose series (or J&J 1-dose) prior to October 1, 2023, or documentation for 1-dose of the most current Covid vaccine (Pfizer or Moderna) as a condition of employment. Must provide documentation for the influenza vaccine as a condition of employment


The starting hourly rate for this position ranges from $20.00 to $25.00, which considers an applicant’s skills and qualifications, certain degrees and prior job experience, training, market data, and other relevant factors. Internships are non-exempt positions and are not eligible for employee benefits.
