A senior-level Project Manager specializing in Electronic Health Record (EHR) implementation is responsible for overseeing large-scale healthcare IT projects within behavioral health services. This role involves planning, coordinating, and delivering EHR systems in compliance with regulatory standards, ensuring operational efficiency, and fostering effective stakeholder engagement. The position requires a comprehensive understanding of healthcare workflows, project management methodologies, and EHR systems integration to facilitate successful project execution and post-implementation optimization.
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, monitoring, and closing of large-scale EHR implementation projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and regulatory compliance.
- Develop and maintain project charters, schedules, budgets, work breakdown structures, and risk management plans.
- Coordinate resources, including internal teams and external vendors, to meet project milestones and deliverables.
- Monitor project progress, report to stakeholders, and escalate issues to ensure timely resolution.
- Facilitate regular communication and meetings with project teams, steering committees, and executive sponsors to maintain project alignment.
- Oversee system configuration, data migration, testing phases, and system go-live activities.
- Coordinate training programs to ensure staff proficiency and smooth adoption of new EHR systems.
- Support post-implementation reviews, continuous improvement efforts, and system optimization initiatives.
- Ensure all project activities adhere to applicable healthcare regulations, including HIPAA, CMS, and Joint Commission standards.
- Document all project deliverables, meeting minutes, and issue logs to maintain transparency and compliance.
Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Information Systems, Business, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 7 years' progressive project management experience, with at least 3 years managing large-scale healthcare IT or EHR implementation projects.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) or PRINCE2 certification required.
- Hands-on experience with electronic health record systems such as EPIC, Cerner, Allscripts, or comparable platforms.
- Proven experience working within behavioral health, public health, or hospital environments preferred.
- Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (Waterfall, Agile) and tools like MS Project or Jira.
- In-depth understanding of healthcare operations, clinical workflows, and health informatics principles.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of translating technical concepts for diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated leadership, facilitation, and team-building abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment while ensuring quality and compliance.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Publishing Pay Range: $84.00 - $89.00 hourly
This position is based in office and requires employee to work on-site.
