A role you will love
The Reconciliation & Control Specialist will be responsible for performing a variety of routine and non-routine reconciliation functions in accordance with standard procedures to ensure all shareholder purchases and sales that occur on the legacy system- SCRIP, will settle correctly and shares and payments are made timely and accurately to shareholders/participants. Any breaks or discrepancies need to be researched and identified within agreed timeframes. The specialist will also be responsible for making sure the internal nominees and broker/custody accounts are in balance for record date processing of dividends for the following types of plans- Dividend Reinvestment Plans (DRP), Direct Stock Purchase Plans (DSPP), and Alternative Investments (REITS).
Some of your key responsibilities will include:
- Utilize various methods to reconcile nominee or custody/broker account discrepancies.
- Research and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Reconciling capital movements before dividends are calculated and after trades are completed.
- Identification and remediation of complex out-of-balances within 5 business days of notification.
- Aged Item reporting/Client reporting.
- Communicate effectively with internal/external clients to resolve exceptions.
What will you bring to the role? Required:Bachelor's degree from a four-year college or university; one- or two-years' experience or related training in the finance or banking industry.
MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) - high volume usage - formulas, spreadsheet management.
Basic knowledge of how financial markets work (stock exchanges, daily interactions between broker dealers) The role holder should also have 1-2 years' experience working in a financial firm.
Preferred:Experience with reconciling financial transactions for a Broker/Dealer, bank or similar type of financial firm.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, percentages, and volume. Numbers oriented previous roles. Ability to multitask and acute attention to details.
