What will you be doing?
Circana is evolving the Commercial Finance function to develop finance leaders who will provide thoughtful analysis, insights, and decision support to Commercial sales leaders. Commercial Finance is responsible for streamlining processes, leveraging new systems, and adding more value for the Commercial partners who drive the business.
The Sr. Manager, Commercial Finance will play a key role in helping shape Circana's Commercial Finance function and will drive improved business results through detailed forecasts, insightful analysis, and thoughtful process improvement recommendations. This role will be the key business partner supporting multiple Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) Practices under one leader (Client Development Organization, Alcohol Beverage & Tobacco, Mid-Market National).
This highly visible role will be the main point of contact for all day-to-day, bi-weekly, monthly, and annual Commercial Finance support and financial planning and analysis (FP&A) processes and activities for the North America CPG Practices, inclusive of all Circana products and services. The Sr. Manager will support the pipeline reviews, KPI development, and performance analysis on both revenues and expenses. Additionally, the role will work collaboratively with Solution partners, Client Insights teams, and other Commercial Finance teammates.
Job Responsibilities
- Manage the P&L for the combined business, including full revenue ownership and expense management, in partnership with the VP of Finance, CPG Finance.
- Serve as a true business partner and "right hand" to the combined practices sales leader, helping the team solve problems and drive stronger business outcomes.
- Support budgeting and forecasting processes for revenue and expenses, improving forecast accuracy and elevating insights on business trends, risks, and opportunities.
- Proactively improve existing processes, perform root-cause analysis on recurring issues, and identify efficiency opportunities in reporting and forecasting.
- Support key initiatives by delivering meaningful insights and analytics across the Global CPG commercial portfolio.
- Prepare reporting packages, analyses, and narratives for business partners and senior leadership, with a focus on variance drivers and recommended actions.
- Track and maintain reporting on headcount, direct expenses, and key operational metrics.
- Maximize the use of Circana's financial systems, including Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Adaptive, and NetSuite, to support revenue pipeline reviews, forecasting, recurring revenue tracking, and booking accuracy.
- Assist solution leaders and their teams with forecast, revenue, billing, and contract-related questions as needed.
- Partner on business case development and conduct ongoing post-mortem analysis for key strategic initiatives.
- Perform ad hoc analysis, reporting, and other projects as assigned.
Requirements - 5+ years of experience in Commercial Finance, FP&A, Sales Operations, Investment Banking or Consulting.
- Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or related business field. MBA preferred.
- Strong commercial finance skillset with experience supporting revenue forecasting, P&L management, and business decision-making.
- Advanced analytical capabilities, with a proven ability to link financial results to business drivers and deliver clear, actionable insights.
- High proficiency in Excel required; experience with large, complex datasets expected.
- Experience using CRM and financial planning systems, including Microsoft Dynamics, Adaptive, NetSuite, and Power BI, preferred.
- Background in software or technology environments with recurring revenue models and/or Consumer Packaged Goods experience preferred.
- Self-directed problem solver who operates effectively in fast-paced, ambiguous environments and proactively identifies solutions.
- Strong business partnering and influencing skills, particularly when working with sales or commercial leaders.
- Clear, confident communicator able to translate financial concepts for non-financial audiences; executive-level presentation skills required.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage shifting priorities and deadlines under pressure.
- People leader or aspiring finance leader; role may have one direct report in the near term.

Location: This position can be located in the following area(s): Remote, US. Greater Chicago area preferred. Must be willing to work Central Time business hours.
The below range reflects the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future. An employee's position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographic location, performance, shift, travel requirements, sales or revenue-based metrics, any collective bargaining agreements, and business or organizational needs. The salary range for this role is $110,00 - $120,000 USD. This role is also eligible for bonus pay.
